Question: Why does everyone say Angels are female, with wings and halo's.
Arnt there only 2 Angles(Not counting Lucifer), Micheal and Gaberale?
Where did this other crap come from?
people like to fantasise, would u rather have a male angel in the anime u watch
or a sexy one? and the fact that the bible does say that angels were fair and
beautiful. But then again, I think the bible never mentioned whether angels were
male or female (and assuming I think angel came from the bible), I think they
don't have a gender. People just say their male because the bible gives some
male name for them
yes thats true....i think no one did c an angel?
its our imagine that angels are female etc..
but i dont remmeber but i think angel can be non sexual..like there isnt a woman
or male.... or i dunno if i changed it that if we human dies we get non
sexual>.<' srry dunno remeber...
i think mountain is right in this opinion.^^
but for me i think angels were human or something who did good work^^' like they
help us in life too?wlel i rlly dunno...i dont know so many about angels
There are actually many more angels apart from Lucifer, Michael and Gabrielle...
Michael, Gabrielle, Raphael, Uriel are your archangels... they control the
elements fire, water, wind and earth respectively... there are many more ranks
of angels, there are the Thrones, Seraphims (these have 6 wings) and many more
different ranks and they are by no means in human forms...(some angels are said
to have the face of a child, the face of a bull and face of a hawk or something)
as to the source of these information.. i think it's not just from the bible..
there are many more ancient scrolls and texts on angels... it's actually a very
interesting subject.. there has been books describing all the documented angels
and devils..which is where i read all these from

Oh and also... in all the documented texts... even in the bible, there's no
where that says angels are females....it's just American's portraition in fact..
.most angels are MALES even Gabrielle.... take a look at ancient biblical
drawings....
Both the Hebrew as well as the Greek word for angel is masculine. It merely
meant "messenger". So originally angels were male, "sons of
God" as is stated in the earlier part of the Old Testament.
I think that since angels were supposed to look beautifull, artists tended to
give them slight feminine appearances. It just evolved to a female
proper.
Come to that - what do you think of Cherubs? Cute, pink, chubby babies with
small useless wings?
actually I've never heard of anyone saying that ALL angels are female. In the
bible, there are males angels. But I see your point, people like to fantazise
and plus a female angel is always more charming
The angeles really dont have sex, is to say are not men nor women. Nevertheless
the painters of the Renaissance made them very femenimos, because they
attributed the innocence of the women of that time.
Angels don't really need to have sex and make little baby angels right? So
what's the point of having reproductive organs then? Besides female angels look
way better than male angels in my opinion.
Actually, Cherubim were described as having four faces - that of a lion, an ox,
an eagle, and a man - and four wings, two pointing upward and two downward. How
exactly they started being depicted as fat baby things is beyond me.
As Shamshiel and 3059 have said, angels were not originally intended to look
like humans, half human half bird, cute babies, or anything appealing to the
human eye. In fact, they were made to be fearsome, strong, swift, like a lion,
ox, and eagle.
There are also MULTIPLE more angels than Gabriel and Michael. Like 3059 has also
said, there are multiple sects or classifications of angels, as well as fallen
angels, one of which is Lucifer, the morningstar.
The angels named in the anime Neon Genesis are actually all names of angels that
do in fact exist in scripture.
I'm also quite positive that Shamshiel is the name of an angel. I may be having
this confused with Samiel though. ^.^
erm...can someone refer the scenes of Evagelion? like those angels like Bardiel
and whatever else...is like, are they also angels? or is that just a term?
Shamshiel ("light of day","mighty sun of God") is an angel
(or fallen angel depending on the source), as is pretty much anything ending in
-el. He was in Evangelion (He was the second one seen, the bug thingy), although
it might have been spelled Shamshel.
All the angels in Evangelion are angels from various sources. A Dictionary of
Angels lists a great deal of them and is a really neat book to buy if you like
the subject. I know offhand that Bardiel is the angel of hail and Tabris is the
angel of free will.

angels are gender-less
they are being of light, wihtout a phisical form, they just take human forms in the bible to be able to interact with people...
devils are fallen angels, those banished from the garce of god.
neither of them are o were ever humas, they preeced us in creation, that's why Satan refused to praise the creation of Adam, and thus deffyed God...
yes i agree... but when they do appear in human form... they appear as males.... well in the way we draw them in old drawings anyway
