"TOKYO--In an interview with Reuters, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada disclosed that his company is considering releasing new installments of its Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest role-playing series on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. "We will decide by E3 in May [2006] as to whether to release them on both the PS3 and Xbox, or just one platform," Wada told Reuters. "

what do you guys think?
well from a technical stanpoint, both have advantages and disadvantages. The xbox 360 has more processing power but the PS3 has a more powerful graphics card, the RSX (equal to 2 GeForce 6800's).The xbox 360 is sporting a very nice ATI chip that boasts 48 pipelines. But rumors are circulating that they are unconventional pipelines that dont really add anything to the power of the card.
And honesly i think Square should stick with Sony. The only reason is I think Square would get treated poorly by Microsoft.
^^good news. nice to heaR plans are being made
final fantasy 13 on ps3 would be great. i got my fingers crossed for that one.
Sounds great to me, particularly the ability to play a next-gen DRAGON QUEST (I like the FINAL FANTASY news as well, it's just that up until recently the U.S. has missed out on playing the bulk of the DQ stuff)!
Incidentally, I picked up the new DRAGON QUEST VIII yesterday evening, and that looks to be a lot of fun. Spent about an hour and a half with it as a reward for studying as hard for a recent exam and really enjoyed my time with it.
(...for any that may be mulling over whether or not to get it, it comes with a short playable demo of FINAL FANTASY XII that has a couple of character perspectives to play from along with the trailer.)
