Not a big deal, but, for me, anyway, it occasionally seems to be taking a while
to be alerted of new notifications. Most of the time its fine, but every now and
then, I'll get a notification, but it won't show up on the main pages until an
hour or so later. Or is it like that all the time, and I'm just crazy?
i've got the same problem, usually my notif stays the same as well i logged in,
even if i stay on the site for 1 hour or so and get more notifs... but then what
i do is just to check them once in a while

technically, all notifications must be cached to be shown, this is not a bug,
just a part of the system, if remaining notifications persist, read all
notifications, check through and reply them, and when finished, press purge and
then all clears up.
Also, once you have done that, do not expect instant notifications to come back
if there are some, what you can do is close the window and open another browser,
login to MT and there, the notifications should show the new ones there.
Works for me this way, so check it out since this has been discussed many times
before. Plus, that is what the purge button is for.

Yep same here. Mostly as long as I'm on this Page the notif won't change. So I check it also one's in a while.
