Well Magna Carta just released in Canada on the 14th (7th in the USA).

The game is pretty unique compare to most other RPGs and it takes a while getting use to. Took my a damn while to figure out the Trinity circle >.<

The story and art/graphics are really nice in the game, but the battle system isnt really that great...seems kinda slow :/

I was wondering what people thought about it and who actually bought it?

I didnt buy it my friend did and I have played it quite a bit since its release.
I agree that the story art and graphics are great.
The battle system is a little "blah" but it could've been worse.
I think they hyped a little too much so we came to expect a perfect game.
All in all i think this game is really good. Just won't expect perfection anymore.. :)

That's right, i got it qhen it first came out and to be honest it's OK, but just that. It doesn't stand against FF and I don't really like the battle system because as you said it's really slow and it's not very strategic but I like where the story is going. At the same time, I feel they could've done some much more graphic-wise, but I guess the budget was tight or they just got lazy. I oughta punch 'em in the throat.
The art is cool but I just didn't like that some of the male characters are too feminine(like a lot)
I guess it's an average RPG. I'll write a review on it later.

Most of the reviews made it sound like so much fun..especially the battles. I am so disappointed :(

i love magna carta, but it's not release in europe jet. i'm already waiting about 2 years. it' s so anoying.

I'm assuming your talking about the release for the PS2; Tears of Blood. Haven't heard of it till now. Been playing 'Phantom of Avalanche' instead. Its in korean, but that's fine. Still an intense game, and the storyline is very deeply involved.

Man i can't wait to buy it (dam finals).

I've read alot of reviews also, pretty much the fans love the graphics and the art of Magna Carta. The turn off of the game is that it each scene loads for a long time, and the battle system is not what they expected. It is unique than most RPG's so actually it's a new battle system that is brought in. ( where you press buttons for skills ) I believe Legend of Dragoon had something like this also. Any ways another turn off is you need "chi" to swing an enemy which takes a while (make other characters look like an idiot just standing there ). Great game fans say but i'm more interested in the art.

to witch plataform is this game?, I like play it.

I've heard both respectable reviews and those that rip the game apart, and from everything I can tell the determining factor between "love" and "hate" here is what kind of RPG conventions you like, or don't like. For example, one reviewer thought the battle system was unique and rewarding in an 'old school' kind of way -- while the other found it tedious and painful to play for extended periods of time.

All seem to agree that the art & design is great to excellent, and that the story is rewarding.

So, at the end of the day I think I'll probably pick up MAGNA CARTA: TEARS OF BLOOD because I've been looking forward to the opportunity for as long and thanks to the excellent character & design art -- but I'll probably wait until the next drop in price to do so.

i love the game and everything about it :> i simply do coz im into that kind of games and all :)

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews - pretty but unplayable.

Then again I liked Killer7 which got mixed reviews too.

Still, I haven't played Star Ocean: Till the End of Time yet, so I think I'll pick it up for $20 bucks instead of spending $50 on Magna Carta.

The game isn't that bad, my girlfriend bought the limited edition version. The book that the limited edition comes with is absolutely great, and the game itself is decent. I wasn't all that impressed by it, but it seems just right for the hardcore RPG gamer. I'll go into more detail of it when I actually get into the game.

JiZames how did your girlfriend get the limited edition box is it out in stores?

Hmm. I know there's a PC version of it in Korean, but is there an English PC version now that there's an English PS2 version I wonder?

I love the game, Have waited for it a looong time. But I have a doubt thou, Are u telling me that an english Pc version is out there ? Or is the ps2 Version ?

I've seen some of the art for the game and I liked the look, but I'm saving for an Xbox 360 and mp3 player, so I dont have any $$ to spare

The voice overs are so bad >.<

It also took me a ridiculously and frustratingly long time to figure out what I was supposed to do, and then a little time longer to get my timing down. Yes, it's an innovative system that in a way hearkens back to the days of Seiken Densetsu where you had a Japanese RPG where you ran around on the battle field and wailed upon enemies, but I guess I'm just lazy and prefer the Final Fantasy/Chrono Trigger type of battle system of menu interface alone.

Anyhow, finals are fast approaching, and I really need to cut down on my gaming. For those of you who are interested in the game, I have the deluxe boxed set (like new, played once) and may consider tossing it up on eBay if there is enough interest (probably with a starting price of $10 and a buy it now around $20). So, PM me and if you're interested, I'll toss it up.

This is the PS2 game that just came out. The PC game is completely different; some of the characters are the same but the storyline is completely distinct.
