Have you ever thought about the thing? i always new this theory existed and what
it is about, only now actually taking a certain interest in it. Religion was
always something I had a "my-own" thinking direction, I am a Christian
but very am sceptical when it comes to Church issues, this yin and yang theory
gives a whole new, somewhat original explanation to a l l things material and
unmaterial. what is it for Y O U, it'd also be pretty awesome if you knew any
interesting books related to the subject.
Ahh, ying and yang. There is good, and there is bad.
Then the most important part comes when you realize that the good has a hint of
bad, and the bad, a hint of good.
When it comes to humans, I believe this is totally true, and I'm sure many
people will agree with me.
When it comes to "god" and the "devil," i believe this is
true as well. Take the Tree of Knowledge for example. In our seemingly
"evil" deed of disobeying God, we have sinned. However, in that sin we
have gained the "good" ability to distinguish between good and evil,
pain and pleasure, that which makes us human.
makes sence to me ... all i knew about yin yang was that it was 2 part that make
a whole...
if we follow that theory doesnt it mean that the "evil" side sees the
"good" side as evil, since the "evil" side sees its self as
good. if u dont follow...you see the opposite as evil coz it opposite to u(good)
and that aplies vice versa.
If you want a book on this subject you should read Lao Tzu's "Tao Te
Ching". It's not copyrighted [as it was written around 500-450 BC] so you
can easily find translations via Google or Yahoo.
It's the best book on the subject [and one of my favourite in general] as Lao
Tzu was the creator of Taoism and Yin/Yang. Kinda small but not that easy to
read. It makes you think before you move on reading but it has some very
interesting ideas and not only for the Yin-Yang theory.
I don't believe in any gods/higher beings but I found it very interesting
It would be an oversimplification to say that ying yang construes that in good
there is bad, and that in bad there is good, since Westerners tend to miss the
significance of "good" and "bad". Better translate that to
"positive" and "negative".
The whole point is balance. Since there is positive as well as negative aspects
in live, there should be a perfect balance between the two. Never mind personal
preferenace; the harmony of the cosmos dangles on this balance. Any occurance
that may seem postive to you, may have negative consequences for someone else.
Or yourself later on.
There is a parable that explains the ying-yang concept quite well (I'm a bit
hazy over the details - I heard it several years ago):
There was a peasant farmer who had one horse. One day the horse ran away. The
neighbor told him how bad it was that the horse ran away. The farmer said,
"maybe its good, maybe its bad".
The next day the horse returned with a mate. The neighbor were happy for the
farmer on gaining another horse. The farmer said' "Maybe its good, maybe
its bad".
The next day the farmer's son tried to ride the new horse but it threw him and
he broke his leg. The famer's neighbor told him how bad it was. The farmer said,
"Maybe its good, maybe its bad".
The next day the military came to conscript the son, but seeing his broken leg,
they couldn't take him on. The neighbor told the farmer how good it was. The
farmer said, "maybe its good, maybe its bad".
Etc. ad infinitum.
The point of ying yang is not good as "good" or bad as
"bad", but that it represents a balance between positive and negative.
It is impossible for everything to be either positive or negative - reality will
be torn apart.
If balance and imbalance makes up the 2 sides of the coin, then postive and
negative makes up the side of balance together.
as people have said above; balance
Yin: one of the two basic principals of the universe, regarded as feminine,
passive and yielding
Yang: one of the two basic principals of the universe, regarded as positive,
masculin, active and assertive
in mandarin || yin = female, moon || yang = male, sun
I'm sure Yin and Yang tries to signifiy good and evil. However, there is a
balance to the world that good cannot exist without evil and vice versa. This is
because what is it called when a world does not have good or evil?
What we consider bad, can be considered good from another point of view.
Balance.
There is a duality to all aspects of nature. I totally believe there is a
ballancing force out there. Yin and Yan are the sources of karma and irony, and
I make sure to pray to the irony gods every day so I might live without too many
come upins coming back to bite me.

any thoughts on that

i do not belive in yin and yang i belive there is more yang than yin
YIN YANG
1) Female Male
2) Spirit The Alive
3) Weak Strength
This is all the meaning i knw... Don`t if it`s correct
