anyways, I found an extension that will make extensions that are incompatible with 1.5 work,
it worked for the 2 I lost: download manager tweak and tiny url creator, they're working perfectly now,

Yeah, I normally edit the extension itself (which is very easy). Just rename the .xpi to .zip and change the <em:maxVersion> element in install.rdf. Occasionally they install but don't work properly, but mostly there are no problems.

The greatest advantage of this new version is that it works much faster than 1.0.

Download Manager Tweak works in 1.5, version 0.7.1 was released two weeks ago.
