Now I am looking for serious answers, don't lie or bluff, and don't be ashamed
if yours is lower than anybody else's. Because unless you're Steven Hawking (IQ
280), there IS someone smarter than you. Just be honest! -=^.^=-
Quote by mahkohimeI took an official
test about...5 years ago or so...I got 142. Feh. (I have my own opinions on
"I.Q." anyways....ah well.)
Excellent to hear that I'm not the only one with my own mind! Any chance I could
persuade you to paraphrase your opinion on IQ? It would please me very much.
(I'll tell you my opinion too)
-=^.^=-
1) the tests given make no sense, in terms of intelligence
2) Intelligence CAN NOT be measured by any test
3) Even people with "low IQ" can be smarter (in one or more areas, and
by smarter I mean more...knowledgeable) than those with "high
IQ".
That is nothing to be ashamed of. Anything over 130 is genius, don't be ashamed
of genius!
Makohime: You are indeed correct. Different areas of the brain have different
functionality quotients, so there's a different "IQ" for every of the
thousands of parts of your brain. I must say I'm impressed.
As for me, 155 on standard tests. Of course it's been proven that IQ is not
'fixed'. That is to say, that the more you use a certain part of your brain, the
more it developes, and if you use the complex thinking portions (mostly
philosophy/science/music/math but not limited to them), they will grow into even
more wonderful grey matter areas. In other words, you CAN get smarter.
It is my belief that through meditation alone, you can become unimaginably
intelligent for the duration of the "trance" and possibly afterwards.
It is proven that brain activity can be consiously "controlled", with
certain parts of the brain being used 100% if willed to, but only with immense
focus and practice. And of course, patience. I think, therefore, that it would
be logical if after doing so X times for Y units of time per session and Z units
of time all together, that you would retain at least a small part of the
increase in brain activity without that extra focus.
I had a catscan done about 4 months ago for the sheer curiosity of what my brain
looks/acts like on a computer. Average human brain usage is between 6%-9% at all
times (excluding subconsious sleep, which then it spikes to 60%-70%)
My brain activity was an average 27% and in subconsious sleep, I was uneven
between 70%-98%. And they did a 30 minute meditation peroid too, where I could
"will" my activity to a total 91% at highest. Now this is 30
minutes... think of meditating for 4 or 5 hours, the high brain activity and
sustained time. Lots of thinking time! GOOD thinking time.
The catscan, if I remember, cost $15,000 (because it was so long) and the only
reason I had the fortune of taking it is because I am going to university
studying neuropsychology and neurology, and having wealthy parents that know how
interested I am in it... Well you get the picture. Very interesting
stuff.
Well I promised you my theory, and there it is. ^.^
Wow, very well though out! Beautiful wording and clarity! I find your theory
quite interesting...and also quite true. I wish I had the money to take those
kind of tests. I'd have a field day! Thanks! *hug*
I got a 145 on an IQ test. Once about 10 years ago and another time a few years
ago. Thats pretty good i guess. I like IQ tests compared to SAT's or GRE tests.
On my SAT I got a 1040 and my GRE I got a 1060. How embarassing.
141,135,128,136, I did many tests but every single test gave me a different
result...^^ Better not believe in this stuff cause your I.Q changes several
times a day just because of different situations...(that´s science
homies^^)
163.But I don't care about stupid test, I don't think intelligence can be
measured by such human(and, by default, prone to fail) means.
Yeah, I'm quick and all that, but my mom is way more clever than me and she got
less than 169(well, maybe that's cause she took it so many years ago, and I only
about 3 or so....but still)
i dont know.... i dont know where i can do one... but, i am interested on do one
^^
maybe i look for on internet... but, all that i found are in inglish... i am a
spanish speaker!
anyway... there is so many interesting IQ here

i had 125 last year..same as mahkohime own opinion on I.Q
I've never taken a serious test, just one on internet. Got around 140, didn't get a fixed result...

2) Intelligence CAN NOT be measured by any test

UHHHHH
it seems as many of minitokyo are having an overaged iq LOL
XD
embarassement ppl.-.

121 :P
guess it's enough to solve a crossword puzzle
You cannot really define IQ. but you can see how much interest one has had in learning the different subjects.
And what scale system are we talking about?
