I think it's possible to make good movies after a video game. For exemple a
movie from a game like silent hill could be cool. Or Something from Metal Gear
Solid. But I think the most important thing is the scenario. A movie from a game
has to have a different scenario from the game, otherwise it's useless. For
example, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children is very good. And I guess that if
Kojima made a movie instead of a game for the last episode of Metal Gear, it
would probably be great. On the contrary, there is not really something to tell
in doom... it does not need a scenario.
Yeah, FF is very good. But did you hear about Uwe Boll? He makes movies out of
from games, and Boll's movie all TERRIBLE! Did you see Alone in the dark? In the
start, there are a car-chasing scene, and somewhere in the middel of the film, a
sex scene?! And that's not all^^""". Boll can spoil every game.
And he would like to make warcraft..Brrrrrr.

I'd heard that Alone in the dark could be adapted in movie but I didn't know it
was already done. Warcraft could be good too. It could be a bit like the Lord of
the Ring, but more brutal, more savage, more Warcraft !
Concerning Final Fantasy, I'm sure that Square could make a great anime (in CG
for example) of Final Fantasy with an original adventure. They've already made
an anime of FFV (not really interesting) and FFVII (Last Order), but an original
scenario could be great. I guess a movie is too short for a Final fantsy
scenario, that's why I thought to an anime
To come back to the adaptation of video games, I think the most horrible
adaptation ever done was Mario. I have not seen it. What about you?

will be good. i love that game. and if
they make videogames into videos it shold be old school like sonic in the best

Yes, Alone In The Dark was adapted to a movie in early 2005 but acording to the
critics ive read is one of the worst movies ever made jajajaj (sorry if you were
waiting for it)
And the Mario adaptation was really crappy, but i think is good compared with
the Street Fighter's.

that it is ..... a live... with real actors instead of an animation movie.

I guess it depends on how the producers act when creating the storybook. If u
take a piece from a game and create a movie from it - its fine. FF7 is a good
example - it creates the unwritten timespan between Sephiroth's death and the
cleansing of the world. Unwritten pieces are good, only if things that happened
appear unchanged or get to see old-known things or persons.
Worst-case Movie-Adaptions like Super Mario Brothers and Alone in the Dark are
from that sort, in which the persons acting in the movie take the role of some
ingame heroes in world totally different or in a way far from the
"world" of the original game. Super Mario was like a bad horror-movie,
dark and ugly. Alone in the dark... well sex-scenes and blood-splattering...
nothing from the original fear and terror... really bad.
Movies that were ok... hmmm Tomb Raider and Resident Evil f.e.
Tomb Raider... original story - not really - but it was like there were just
additional adventures between the the game-parts. Resident evil... not really
what I expected from it. I disliked the actors and the changed characteristics
from the game-chars. Especially Jill in part 2 - a smoking biatch... come on...
the rest was ok... but the name Resident evil didnt match for the original
game.
Well and for Warcraft... World of Warcraft mixed up everything in the original
universe. A movie cannot really get it worse. Well actors etc... dont want to
thin kabout that. But its like with the Manga... nothing to do with
Warcraft...

Yup somebody mentioned Uwe Boll. This man is the devil. He takes games that were
pretty popular and turns them into crappy, low-budget movies. I mistakenly
watched his "House of the Dead" movie....didn't even watch it halfway
through. Resident Evil wasn't THAT bad imo.
OH GOD yes Uwe Boll is the devil! Avoid all his films like the plague. While
geniuses like Terry Gilliam (director of Fear of Loathing in Las Vegas and the
Brother's Grimm) can't find any one willing to produce his films, retards like
Uwe Boll get to churn out crap like Alone in the Dark and his most recent anal
leakage, BloodRayne. He actually managed to find some good actors to be in
BloodRayne but the dialogue and directing made the film barely watchable.
I can understand the games made out of movies... But after watching Doom the Movie. I have sweared not to watch a game movie again.
