I know it's not offically christmas yet, so you haven't got your gifts yet, but
that's precisely why I wrote this now and not after.
The meaning of gifts isn't the physical presents you get, but the intangibles
the gifts that can't be explained, but when you realize you got it, it's
something you'll treasure all your life. Sounds like something too good to be
true, it definately exists, you just need to open your eyes to it.
I could go on forever with a description... but best way is to tell you about my
best gift of the year... and from that it's up for your interpretation and also
for you to share with the rest of us.
Well I'm the quiet geezer of MT, and pretty much the same in the real world.
Like most people always busy... but honestly think I take it to an extreme...
it's either work... or devote everything to my family and help them out. So with
that... you find yourself distant from others.. which results in being alone
alot... Doesn't mean I don't have any friends... just means I constantly battle
the distance i have between us, and also makes it hard to find a close
friend...
And that leads into my gift this year... which was being lucky enough to find a
Baka Bat aka my friend Karyn. This baka doesn't think she is special or
anything, but to me she holds a real special place in my heart, and hopefully
the curse of the distance can be overcome... but won't talk about that much...
The baka isn't just a gift in herself... but she has given me countless little
gifts... gifts that brought me smiles when I was down... and such a simple gift
as caring about me when I'm sick or stressed out... or being able to laugh about
pretty much any topic...
Yeah we experience these things each and every day... and some may take it for
granted... but to me... every single moment... every second... i treasure...
because it is special to me... to a weary traveling quiet geezer... these simple
things are my world... and this year... I was again blessed by it...
I can't physically give her anything for the holidays, but hopefully these
feelings and well wishes can be felt and heard by the heavens... so that the new
year will truly bring her more happiness...
I also wish everyone else that I've met and one day meet on MT the very best
holidays, this is a wonderful community that has been a get away that has only
brought me joy
It's a season for giving and more so for sharing, so look forward to what you
gifts you can share with everyone
Karyn Sounds wonderful. My best gift is meeting new friends this year and being
able to spend time with them and being with to very close people to me, They are
almost like family...well i consider them family now and its the best gift to be
able to spend time and talk. but just on the side material wise the best gift
this year would have to be my new prozzak CD

The only thing I want for xmas is the only thing i cannot have. To spend it with

I wont open my gifts until tomorrow evening, but i know i will get a clothing i
wanted, but thats about the only thing i wished for -.-

from the heart, and I daresay I will have too many "physical" presents
this year, comes with being a spoiled child
Then again, all those thing you claim I do for you, you also do for me. Isn't
that what friends are for?
About little simple things... a teacher in high school once told us that when a
friend or nephew of hers was wished a happy life at his marriage party he
answered "I don't want a happy life, i want a life filled with little joys
for those are the ones that will make the hardships bearable" (of course,
that's a rough translation from French and i'm not sure i got it all right, it
was so long ago )
but i think this is true : no one can ever be happy 24/7 for their entire
life... challenges always come upon our path and we have to overcome them, but
throughout this bumpy road that is life, there are always little moments of
happiness that have to be cherished, even if they last only a few seconds. The
purpose of Christmas is obviously to share, and then make those moments possible
at least once a year, but hopefully, everyone can find those moments anytime
during the year ^^
Sadly, I couldn't find any straw hat for you XP... I'm sorry. As you know, i
finished my session in a rush and left my appartment almost as fast. But, as I
said, you do exactly the same things for me, care for me, scold me when you see
I'm not about to go to bed XP... so thank you very much for that as well. Happy
holidays to you gemini, and hopefully, you'll be able to spend some time with
your family... I bet you're still very busy
Physical wise, I guess a journal and a pen...the really expensive kind. But it's
pretty good for me, because this is the first christmas where I actually got
some presents back in return...lots and lots of friends this year...i'm in
heaven...and some presents do come from the heart. We love giving presents
because we wanna see that person happy!

Totally agree with you fawna chan. We do love to see that person happy, and I'm
really happy for you because you've been on the recieving end too. This year I
got a taste of that from the Baka Bat I mentioned... so i'm reallly happy too

It is this sea turtle glass figurine my friend brought me. She was tight on
budget and she still brought me a gift. So sweet of her! I love her to PIECES!

Well it's past christmas, and wanted to talk about my physical gifts too. So I
got two new pair of shoes (one for work, and the other was running) The other
gifts were gifts to the home really but I can use. They were a new reciever/dvd
player (higher end). Guess not a great pattern, but two years without a physcal
gift to open per say, just bought those items, but can't complain.
But like my post started off with, my greatest gift this year is Baka Bat... now
if only I could get that straw hat for my birthday *hint hint*
