I have a lot of anime on my computer and i want to burn it all onto dvds.

What program do i need to do this? And also, do i need a different program to conver the avi files into something suitable for dvd?
Any help would be great i am very confused.

Well I assume you have a dvd burner, so whatever software came with that should be fine enough to burn avi files into dvds. If not you might need a converter to convert avi to some other format, but I highly doubt this.

What do you mean by burning it to DVDs?
Do you want to watch the Anime on your TV or do
you just want to burn it for backup?

For backup to DVD, just use the burner software your PC
comes with and backup your anime files to a DVD, it's as simple as that, but for
burning anime files to DVD and you want to be able to see it on TV. Then you have to use Nero Vision Express then the program will do it for you.
If you do not have it, You may download from the Nero's website.

BTW: You do not need to convert the file format for DVDs
Nero Vision 7 will do it for you.

It's a trial Demo, but at least you can use it temporary for burning your files
to DVD.

Well I had a couple good programs that can convert and encode files so that you can burn them as DVDs, however I have lost them (computer went belly up) and I am now in the process of retrieving them. Darn good programs too. I now use the Panasonic DVD recorder paired with my NVidia graphics card to record my dvds as I play them on the computer. I'll come back with the list of programs you need tomorrow.

Oh I forgot. Nero 7 and other over the shelf burners don't work. For a burner that can convert and encode files you gotta pay top dollars for them. I tried the Nero DVD Burner (Nero Express) and the Roxio Easy CD and DVD Burning programs. If the files aren't playable through Windows Media, without the use of CCCP or other audio or video plugins, then they won't transcode to .avl and burn on dvds properly. Its a PITA................

You have to use Nero Vision Express, not Nero Express.

What i want to do is to be able to burn them onto dvds and then watch them with my dvd player.
I need to know how to do this.
My computer has a default dvd player but has no default dvd burner. The only thing close to a burner is roxio burner, which for some reason will not work on my computer.

One reason Roxio might not work properly maybe it's not compatible
with the system configuration that you are having.

Go to www.roxio.com and download the engine updates as well
as the individual program updates for your Roxio program.

Downloading requires a screen name and password.
Only download the one that associated to your program.

Do you have CD burner?
If you do not have any CD burner than all burning programs will not work.

if its .avi, u can only watch it on the computer, if u want to convertor to dvd, then you have to get a convertor

I use DivX to DVD to convert my anime AVI. files to DVD format.

if you can't be bothered converting all your anime, I suggest u get urself a divx dvd player which plays avi files w/o u having 2 convert it. They're pretty cheap these days, the cheapest one I've seen is like only around ~AUS$40-50. Saves you a lot of time.

The DivX DVD player is the best suggestion. They can also play Xvid too. Nero 7 Ultra will let you convert. Just make sure you install all the necessary components since Nero has a lot of smaller programs besides the Nero Burning ROM.
