are ciggerets allowed on airplanes as a carry on, im a little confused and i am going to italy soon, i dont want them to get crushed in my luggage if i put it through the carry on part will it go off or something

pack it in a safe pack. Use a metal or sustainable plastic box.
put on top and carry in hand luggage, u cannot smoke in the plane so don;t try it.
As a fellow smoker before, i suggest u try that.
Never put your cigarettes under anything heavy, if you must, carry a cigar box (wood or metal or whatever) carry it that way, and remember to plastic wrap them for freshness, since the air plane pressure and long haul flights can someone affect the taste. Cheers,.

i have a gift box thats hard as hell, i put them inside it, and its in my luggage not carry on, ill have one when i get there light 72's baby

good enough, u can carry them on. It is perfectly fine.
Just make sure it is air tight for better keeping ok, cheers. Enjoy your trip!

I think they are... But usually two... errr... what are called these boxes - "cartouches" ? -
after all we can buy them in the duty-free shops.

those are for carrying a limited number, if you plan to take by load maybe at least 10-20 packs at one go, It is not usable. U gotta have a decent box.

As far as I know you're allowed to carry them, but not smoke them...

Which is sad really because since smoking has been stopped, the air-conditioning on planes has been reduced & now people are actually breathing worse quality air to that of when it was allowed :p So stupid it's true...

You are allowed to carry cigarettes with you. Last time I flew, they didn't give me a problem at all. However, you are NOT allowed to bring a lighter with you. Matches are ok, but lighters are not.

that is funny...matches are a danger too, cause u can cause a fire hazard from rubbing against it to set alight something...
at times i wonder. plus won't the sulfur hurt you if you inhale?

@saikusa
Nah...air conditioning is still ok (at least in my place, most planes are old ones that allowed smoking before) although....it does get stuffy cause they don't bother cleaning up the air conditioning system.

buy the lighter when you are there, it would be better, just in case to prevent a fire problem.
