Not trying to offend, but SDK shares a ton of similarities with Ruroni Kenshin
(Samurai X). Particularly character-wise. To think I almost mistook it for a new
Samurai X anime... ^^;

negative. nothing to do with each other, other than sekigahara. the great battle
that took place. kyo is about ownage in its purest form. with a shitload of
katanas flying around and killing anyone that tries to hinder Omine No kyo!!!!!!
the demon eyes kyo is the killer of a thousand men, and is infinitly more badass
than Kenshin. thats my opinion. sorry for being to onesided.
i think samurai deeper kyo is quite different from rurouni keshin...as

Absolutely nothing to do with Samurai X whatsoever. To be honest I love Samurai
Deeper Kyo, its a fantastic series and the animation for it is simply beautiful.
The storyline itself is just as how dark described it. The series has nothing
in common except for the usage of swords. Otherwise they are two completely
different series. I strongly you give a look into Kyo because I feel that it is
WELL worth the money.

first of all, the main conflict in samurai deeper kyo is kyo and kyoshiro's
conflict in one body against the order whose trying to control the world.
kenshin's conflict is staying with the ones he loves and fighting against his
past for his present.
i think samurai x is better, but samurai deeper kyo ain't bad either
Well, it sorta reminds me of a mix of the Trigun and R. Kenshin series feel to
it, but i guess thats about it 8p
i never really liked the Demon eyes dude, he was so uncool one can be while at
the same time beeing a powerhouse, don't usually like that mix so i never

like this. o_O First off, Kenshin was a real general in the Japanese Army that
fought against the samurai. Not only are the characters fake in SDK, the only
thing true about it was the battle of Sekigahara. o_O Samurai X is also VERY
serious and depressing, while SDK is funny.. SX is more down-to-earth with
minimal fantasy, while SDK is very fantasy-like, with the Muramasa and the
characters.
sdk !!! i love the manga , the level of enjoyment is on par or surpassing those
of kenshin manga. maybe its just me haha xD oh yea - the anime stopped following
the manga at chapter 2
ah, here's to resurrecting the old threads! yah, i too have noticed that some of
the characters from SDK seem somewhat similar to kenshin... like yuya~kaoru,
benitora ~sano, etc... but despite the similarities there are differences... SDK
is somewhat darker than kenshin, but it's nice to read it after finishing
kenshin, because i can still get my samurai fix!i'm actually starting to like
SDK more than rurouni kenshin...but we'll see after i finish reading the
series... (i haven't seen the anime yet...)
Nothing at all to do with each other, they don't take place anywhere realitive
to each other (Rurouni Kenshin takes place during the bakamatsu, the end of the
Tokugawa Shogunate, whereas Samurai Deeper Kyo takes place right after the
Sekigahara, which is the very beginning of the Tokugawa. In fact, Benitora IS a
Tokugawa). They share some faint similarities, but that's about it. Samurai
Deeper Kyo is far more... fantasy ... than Rurouni Kenshin.
Really, any anime/manga about samurai can share faint similarities with any
other. :P
Good grief, the timelines aren't even the same for one. I'm an adherent of the
manga for each series, and that's where you can really see the differences. I
dunno, the SDK anime just didn't do it for me - they cut out too much of the
story, which is why I guess some people were making the mistake of equating SDK
with Rurouni Kenshin.

SDK and Kenshin have some similarities but they also the their differences as
well. As Sylvacoer said SDK and Kenshi do not take place in the same time. SDK
occurs around the beginng of the Edo era whereas RK occurs at the end.

It's definately nothing like Kenshin... I'm up to volume 12 in the manga and
will be seeing the anime shortly and I have seen some minor similarities in the
beginning, but it went on a much different course than Kenshin.

yeah,I agree with cyanide,SDK is more better and greater than samuray x,onime no kyo and mibu kyoushiro is more better than kenshin
