yeah, I've seen a few series and I think they're pretty good....normally more
into korean and hk dramas tho. I've seen nobuta wo produce tho, I thought it was
pretty funny. The extra episode kinda ruined the ending (I prefered it as it
was) but other than that it was pretty good (a lot of unexpained parts tho, like
why was aoi trying to b all mean and stuff for no reason it doesn't make any
sense).
I've gotten into dramas myself. I've seen Hana Yori Dango, Densha Otoko,
Gokusen, Kimi wa Petto, Koi ga Shitai, Nobuta wo Produce, etc. I agree with
Kori....longer would be nice, but they still awesome. I think I muct have missed
the extra epp thing ur talking about, but it seems like maybe that was for the
better? Anyways. I love the jdrama! They so
funny and it gives me an avenue into Japan that I can't usually get. ^_^ Drama
muchly good! ^_^
i've only seen a couple of jdramas, but thus far GTO is my favorite! it had
great acting (and hot actors! XP) and wasn't as over the top as anime can
sometimes be... i wish it had been longer tho...
i've recently gotten ahold of Gokusen and the first couple episodes of Hana Yori
Dango... so those will soon be added to my jdrama list.
does anyone have any other suggestions for good jdrama series?
Fireflywishes: Have you seen Ichi Rittoru no Namida? (1 Litre of Tears) It is
VERY good...but sad....so prepare tissues if you want to watch it. A member of
the boy band NEWS stars in it....
Nobuta wo Produce! RECOMMENDED! Kame and YamaP from the boy bands KAT-TUN and
NEWS respectively as eye candy! (Though the girls in it do seem rather bitchy,
eh....but YamaP so cute!)
Dragonzakura! Am currently watching this! YamaP is also in it, as well as Teppei
(from WaT. Aw, he so cute)
Summer Snow...haven't watched it....but I heard it was good....a romance drama.
Tsubasa (from Tackey & Tsubasa)! (Hearts)
Some other ones that others recommended:
Anego (Jin from KAT TUN)
Long Vacation (has good soundtrack)
H2 (good music)
I don't know about length...sometimes you just wish the story could be longer
just so you could understand the situation more and provide a deeper backstory
you know?...some of the anime-tv series adaptations could've have benefitted a
lot more if they did that (imo)...instead of something like the anime usually
many things are cut out and stuff =\...but all in all though some are really
good...just finished watching kiken no anaekki (or something like that)...not
bad...won't say great but it is a nice jdorama about family love and stuff...=3
A nice 10-12 episodes is what I think about. Since each episode is about double
of anime ones, it comes about to one standard anime season. (26
episodes)
Just think about one drama that is set to have 24 episodes lets say, that is
equal to close to 50 anime episodes. Not many series (anime/drama) included, can
hold consistent ratings for such a long period.
Recently I found that I ma addicted to Densha otoko, Ive watched the whole
series TWICE, I read original 2chan version of the story (well at least the
parts witch were translated to english) I read some of the manga versions. I'm
wondering about watching the movie version but I heard i'ts pretty messed up and
far much worse than TV drama. And.... IMHO Misaki Ito IS THE MOST BEAUTIFULL
JAPANESE ACTRESS !
I've no idea how to make a website but I'm thinking to learn some html an make a
fanpage devoted to Densha Otoko, you can saj I'm a Densha Otoko
otaku ^_^.

But of course I like other dramas too
Is that so? lol - Speaking of Miss Ito, at least to me,
she would have portrayed as a much better actress in comparison to many other
controversial stars like Kyoko, for example, because of her constant abilities
becoming overshadowed by the bigger star names from time to time - as for such,
I would like to see her in a couple more drama shows as a support actress
whenever she has the chance to grasp onto it.
When it comes to the movies she was in, however - don't mention about Ju-on
though. Now that film was really not my favorite in terms of preferable, scary
movies, although she did a pretty darn good job on Dangerous Beauty which was
just released this January of 2006, if I can recall. Now that movie was pretty
funny and neat, I tell you that much.
I just finished watching Gokusen 2... Has anyone else seen it? What were your
thoughts? I really liked some of the characters/situations, but I don't think
that it was as good as the first season. However, I have a new obsession in the
form of Hayami Mokomichi... Imagine my surprise when I saw that he was in Densha
Otoko! Now I want to finish the series just so that I can see him in it! XP
Yup, i love JDorama but, i don't have time to watch it now. The time kills
me...so what the most interesting drama now? besides i enjoy watching KDrama too
Ah, had some free time this weekend and discovered the joys of watching complete
Jdrama episodes on YouTube... So I was able to watch some Nobuta wo Produce and
Kimi wa Petto... of the two I liked KwP better than NwP... I really enjoyed
seeing the crackified MatsuJun... so energetic! And it took me awhile to realize
that it was Koyuki from The Last Samurai as Iwaya!
However, nothing beats the pigs in NwP-- supercute! "Nobuta powaa, chuu
nyu!"
yea I've seen a couple more since I last replies in this thread. I've seen both
Gokusen 1 and 2...highly recommended...theres matsumoto jun (arashi) in part 1
and kame and jin (KAT-TUN) in 2. I also just got to see the anime series too
which is pretty funny. The series is sorta a mix between the 2 with part 1
having the same characters but different storyline and 2 having new characters
but similar story to anime. Also seen Hana Yori Dango and altho not really
j-drama Friends since it does star Fukada Kyoko.....go Won Bin and Lee Dong Gun
looks funny with that hair he looks better in a suit and shorter hair....lolz

hehe...sorry bout that...how could I forget Shun. Oh yea just saw
Gachibaka....go Gonta! altho it is compared to the likes of GTO and Gokusen...I
feel it does have some of its own merits. Yea....and saw Densha Otoko...and yes
Shun is in it ....hehe ...as a
minor role...yay...at least he's there! theres Horikita Maki from nobuta wo
produce...and misaki ito from gokusen 1 (remember the tall teacher?).
ooops forgot to mention the NEWS duo of Tego and Massu in Gachibaka
Does anyone here like Jdramas? I watch Ichi Rittoru no Namida and Nobuta wo Produce.

For starters, I would definitely recommend Densha Otoko, a very light hearted comedy about otaku life
I would say I prefer shorter series like JDRAMA better than longer ones, simply because the story tends to get repetitive in those KDRAMAS,
I don't know about length...sometimes you just wish the story could be longer just so you could understand the situation more and provide a deeper backstory you know?...some of the anime-tv series adaptations could've have benefitted a lot more if they did that (imo)...instead of something like the anime usually many things are cut out and stuff =\...but all in all though some are really good...just finished watching kiken no anaekki (or something like that)...not bad...won't say great but it is a nice jdorama about family love and stuff...=3

I love dramas... not only jdramas but asian dramas in general... some of my fav Japanese dramas are Kimi Wa Petto, Gokusen and Nobuta wo Produce.

I have just gotten into JDramas. The ones I like are: Nobuta wo Produce, Gokusen (1 and 2), Dragonzakura, Kurosagi, and Hana Yori Dango ^__^
