Artists creates beautiful paintings where we can see how they see the world we live in. Authors creates their own world in the novels and stories that they make.

But what about us? God created us. He created the world. At least that's what the bible says. What about God though? Who created him? Where did he come from? How did "everything" actually happen?

Then there's the Big Bang Theory in Science. If we follow this theory, then there is no God. Is that right? >.<

Have you ever read the Da Vinci Code? What's up with that? As if we didn't have enough to confuse ourselves already. What is our "purpose"?Why do we live?

In the bible, it is said that God created Adam and Eve. But what about all those dinasours? That dragon in Discovery channel? (Yes. They DO exist) What's the real "beginning"?

What about that book called, "Sophie's World"? The one about Philosophy. The first question in the first chapter. "Who are you?"
Of course, you're "you". But really, who are you? Who am I?Why is there death?

Second chapter. I think. It said, "we are floating in space". Which is true. And yet we don't seem so bothered by it for ome reason. As if the fact that gravity holds us down seems to satisfy our minds already that we don't bother to feel any emotion with the answer. As if we are content that as long as God "loves" us. God is "watching" us. He would never let anything bad happen.

Something happened in the Bible though. The whole world was flooded with water.

Do you see where Im getting at? Am I relying on facts and books too much?

Well, I might get a little off topic on this, but here are my views:
About the existence of God, being an agnostic, I don't think it is possible to prove (or disprove) the existence of God. I accept the fact that somewhere there might (emphasis on 'might') be a higher being than us, but a 'Divine' power controlling all our destiny seems a bit too preposterous.

Creationism vs. Evolutionism is an age long battle that I think will refuse to end. I myself prefer to think that Creationism is a figment of the human mind, an early attempt to explain how we (humans) came to be.
The Big Bang theory. Of course, it's still only a theory. A great mass suppressed into a volume smaller than the smallest atom then exploding to create what is now the universe is fesible (i dunno how to spell that) in theory, but of course there's no way to prove it.

"Who are you?" is a question i have frequently asked myself for years (which is strange to most, considering my age). I am "me". But what is "me"? Am I simply flesh and blood, born simply to die again? I've found certain ways to answer that question (i'll be happy to share them, if you want just ask via guestbook).
"Why do we die" is another question i've asked time and time again. Perhaps there is a certain "balance" that must be kept. But then population growth has never been worse. Death. Do we each have our expiration date?

Floating in space is a more recent subject for me, and as of yet i have no satisfactory comment on it.

For your final question, no, you aren't relying on it too much. It's just (i think) you haven't gotten the concept 100% yet (neither have i) that these are two distinctly different things.

i kinda agree... balance is only a nature of the world... it already exist there... but the other part to it is that we live outside the balance too... unbalance and balance is very important in their ways...

The Big Bang theory is about particles emerge from nothing....to form something like matter and antimatter and energy and got separated.... but i am not too sure about this theory... seems fine but still lots of questions about the theory like wat cause this appearance from nothingness...

Also there is the theory about god... its possible but also with lots of questions like if god(s) creates us then who create god(s)...if gods are there from the beginning... then why not us too...and stuff like that...

and c'mon... we are already in space... it only matters on who discovered it first... it may even be a coincidence it was written that way... maybe wat they mean is that space=nothingness and we are just among nothingnes... it doesnt have to mean space=vacumn that separate us from other planets....

the bible may be partially in connection with wat happen in the world.... according to some history books... there is a huge flood that occur but ppl survive but not on Noah's ark.... like the great flood in China long time ago.... it is treated by engineering and construction to build a dam...to secure the lands... there is a record on it too about a great flood in Eqyption history but i didnt bother to check that out.... and also there is a record of Adam living to the age of 200++ but Chinese ppl's record on their ancestors also have a record on ppl living up to 200++..... so the bible may only record stuff that has already been there... and may juz be "altered" to suit their believe on god....

Anyway... you arent relying on books too much... just add common sense and lots of observations and also think for yourself to get the truth out.....

thinking about it... there are too much doubts in the world... i gave up so long ago... coz we can only get close to the truth but not the whole truth....

give you somthing else to think about.... are we really just elements or is there souls that keep on going?... also think about the psycological effect on ppl when you tell them that "everything end when you die and there will be no heaven or hell... just nothing and end... thats all....." this idea kinda freaks ppl out... dunno why...and wats so wrong about everything end? this will bring you closer to why ppl want a heaven and hell...and to keep on living...lol

Haha...this is what someone said to me..."Science cannot explain God. If science could explain God, then would we be God ourselves?" ^_^ hehe think about it..

Bye.

Just to clarify the Big Bang theory, matter doesn't just pop out of nothing. In the theory all the stuff in the universe was smashed into a tiny tiny singularity. It was so small it was smaller than say....an atom. When it went bang space itself expanded. It was not an explosion. As the stuff cooled down it slowely formed matter and galaxies etc.

That's the Big Bang in a ketchup packet for ya.

Because there are so many threads on whether God exists and what the nature of such a supreme being may be, I'm working on cleaning out this forum. Please use existing threads whenever possible rather than creating new threads.
