I can always tell when someone has given me a sincere hug. I don't know exactly
how it works but they give you a kind of energy when it's sincere. If someone is
just hugging you because they think they need to but don't really want to you
don't get that feeling. I was just wondering if anyone else can tell the
difference.
I don't know that you can tell if the other party is a good enough actor/tress.
I've always been able to tell from the body language of the other party, but I
don't like people to touch me so I'm more prespective than some other people.
However, I don't imagine I would be able to tell if the other person put some
real effort into fooling me. I know that I personally fool people quite easily.
As I said, I don't like to be touched. I know exactly how to hide that aspect of
my personality so people don't think I don't like them.
I don't get many hugs....so all of them are sincere as far as I'm concerned. I
don't know why. Maybe I'm just scary looking. Anyway, I don't like to, or good
at faking anything. Honesty is my greatest virtue/curse. I'm pretty much exactly
how I seem.
I don't let people hug me very much, so the people who is allowed, I know they
are giving it for real because of the relationship I have with them (parents,
some friends,e tc...)
The pace of the hug, for one...too fast or too awkward is never good.
Additionally, the arms...I hate "half hugs" where the sort of drap an
arm around a shoulder and give a small squeeze.
The most telling, though, is abdominal contact. Do they press their body against
yours? Those are my favorite, accompanied by a good squeeze around the waist.
a good hug is fine...
one way to tell if its genuine is to ceheck whether the person your hugging is
hugging your body tight and you can feel their body...

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean... I don't think that there is a way to explain it either...
Perhaps there is.... the tighter the squeeze, the more sincere it may be, of vice versa....
Why hug when there isn't a need to? Forced hugs are insincere, that's for sure.
no......because I haven't had a hug since i was probably a baby.
Yes I can tell if the person really doesn't want to hug me and if they do want to hug me.
You can totally tell. It's hard to explain how though, isn't it?

probably more of a squeeze would mean more sincerity
someone insincere would probably not want to hold you as tight lol
but every thing can be faked.
