Just to let you know, Minitokyo's mature content policy is going to become stricter this week, due to complaints from members and advertisers.

Any submission's deemed innapropriate for family content must be deleted, so please do not be alarmed by the sudden deletions, regardless to however long you have had them in your gallery.

Anything found to be pornographic, mature or suggestive in nature will be deleted- this means everything except clothed [bikini's are fine, as long as they aren't taking them off in the submission] characters.

In short, please do not take this as a personal attack on your submissions, but a necessary cleaning of the site in order to make our members and sponsors happy.

- any submission deemed suggestive in nature, including removing of clothing, fondling another in a sexual manner, or an item deemed non artistic, that being used only for viewing as objects not art/artistic value.

- you may question a deletion using the proper methods refering to the MY submission policy, but this does not guarantee resubmission.

This is a really sad move.
I have lost a lot of my scans, and 3 of my wallpapers are removed.
does this apply to the ecchi club as well?
can we still at least post there our scans and stuff?

And following this, I hope that the moderators would at least modify the message auto PM to say: " YES! GOOGLE IS EVIL, THEY FORCED US TO REMOVE IT"

I think this would be good.
anyway, I am very dissapointed.
But in all goodness, can some moderator please reconsider my D's Vector Brushed to Oblivion: Tie Me be restored, that wallpaper is only expression wise suggestive, I am sure it was not all that much violate the all powerful sponsors....

have the sponsors responded what exactly is "the level of family content allowed"?
Personally the two scans that Ky submitted is definitely not material of such.
I would like a more detailed answer as well.

Well, that's life. There's nothing we can do about it. Whatever "right" they have or do not have, if we want MT to keep running, we must clean up the galleries.

If you really like ecchi that much, there are plenty of places to go to.

thats happen when the "good family values" try to keep the kids out from any mature material....c'mon......we r talking about google...its imposible seach something whitout found very discusting pics....even if u try to search for Jesuschrist....u ll found very very groose(but funny)pics about him.......or try to search about Barney the dinasaur....a 7years old cousin founded a pornographic page searching for barney...

so......58% of the female scans will be deleted?

and what about the "unknown echii" section?..it will be less echi?


im very dissapointed whit this place...i mean.....where will be all the members who bring us every day the holy echii to the galleries?.....its like when the American companies cut and kill the anime to put it in the TV......very very sad......

"Inappropriate for family content"? ~_~ I'm sorry, but this is hilarious. This is not a "family" site. It is true there are a few borderline pictures in the gallery, but the vast majority of the things I have seen be deleted are absolutely harmless. So what if a girl is in a bikini, peering over her shoulder and winking at you as she blows a kiss, that is hardly cause for a ban on all vaguely 'suggestive' images. I thought Nuriko had already cleared out all inappropriate material with the eradication of the hentai gallery. Cleaning up the site is one thing, but overreacting to a little leg or cleavage is quite another.

I would also like to know if any specific guidelines were issued, or if they just said "Get rid of all the ecchi pictures or else we'll throw a hissy fit and stop endorsing this site."

This seems like such an 'American' thing to do, and I am willing to bet that is where this order originated. I am not a huge fan of the ecchi gallery, but this is simply ridiculous. I am not going to argue with this decision, as I understand the administration has no choice, and the advertisers do have every right to revoke their sponsorship if they decide they "just don't like this site because it is not instilling wholesome values in our youth", or for whichever other silly reason this decision was made, but... my god, who is it hurting?

The next thing you know, kissing and males with their shirts off will be outlawed. Not to mention shoujo-ai and shounen-ai. :sweat: *sigh* Where will it end, where will it end...

mature content........sad fact is that most anime titles contain mature content even without ecchi or hentai. In the 1st place, majority of anime isn't meant for family watching. Some people think that anime characters look evil. Funny that mature=(ecchi, hentai) when it covers a lot more than that.

I usnderstand your concerns but this is reality. As for the ecchi club [which, I may add- I'm a member of] I assume providing links to scans/submissions you have uploaded on lets say photobucket and the like is perfectly acceptable: just please respect the decision made and realize we have discussed this matter for a long time, so it was not a harsh decision.

Echii is still allowed, just not borderline stuff. We should have an updated description of what is allowed in due time. For the time being, if you wouldn't show your 5 year old, don't submit it.

censorship.....*sigh* i don't like it, not at all, it seems when people want to (in their minds) make a place better like this, they always seem to go a bit overboard.....i am NOT ragging on the admin for this they had no choice in the matter....

i however DO agree with what LordWe said...this is NOT a family site, there was no time that i noticed that this site claimed it was a family site...as for the users that were complaining about it, then i have to say JUST DON"T LOOK AT IT! When i was going through the gallery and saw the ecchi, yeah I was a lil disturbed by it and i didn't like it, but I ignored it and got on with my life, its not that big of a deal, besides there are a lot more awesome and beautiful pics on here than nasty ones, so I think people should spend their time admiring those, not wasting their time with the stuff they don't like. And if that solution isn't a possibility for you then stay in the forum, go on here as little as possible or just don't bother coming on at all, cuz you're kinda causin a lot of probs for everyone.....

As for the whole Google situation, i think it is really unfair that they focus on us when MT stuff is mild compared to other sites...and i'm just curious...are they deciding to censor other sites as well or just us? Also, did they warn us first when they started sponsering us to just have "family content" on here or they wouldn't sponser us? And why did they decide to do this now after the sites been up for this long?
Once again, i must agree with LordWe, who is this REALLY hurting, all of our young virgin eyes and minds? oh pleez, they really need come up with a better reason than that.....

Once again I don't blame the admin or whoever else is in charge here, u had no choice i understand, but i'm mad at the people who completely overreacted to the ecchi on this site....

Why not just search another Sponsor?

I think that there are a lot of Sponsors who will accept such material. And by the way, these are just pictures (Animegirls ang Animeguys). No one gets harmed or something like that.

That's really horrible what these guys from google want you to do.

Please mods try to find another sponsor for minitokyo because we will loose so much beautiful images. We all tryed so hard to find all these beautiful images and now we will loose them.

I think that a lot of the members will agree with me.

Or maybe, I say maybe, We can find another way.

How about if we, the members, sponsor Minitokyo ourselves. Just forget about google. Let's sponsor Minitokyo and so we can keep all the beautiful stuff.

Let's keep minitokyo how it is.

I can easily make the difference between censorship and removing scans with sexual/mature content. A nude that is considered art does not necessarily mean mature in my opinion.

See I would have close to no problem showing the first 2 images to a 5 year old. Censuring the human body isn't intelligent at all. Allthough sex is something different, that is indeed not suited for their age. And as you can see sexual content doesnt even mean naked girls, they can be fully clothed. But it's easy to diferenciate what images have sexual intentions and plain nudity.
So my question is will nudes be/still be accepted as art?

You know, the more that I think about this, the more worried I become. As drastic as this change has been so far, I fear for the future of Minitokyo. Please tell me this will not affect males with either an open shirt or no shirt on... as well as shoujo-ai, shounen-ai and kisses. That would be almost infuriating.

And... *big breath* what about sexy poses with nothing being revealed? Or images where a character is nude, but is not showing any 'inappropriate' parts at all? What about thongs? What about two girls/guys in bikinis/speedos hugging? What about lingerie, night clothes and bath scenes? What of sexy/skimpy/form fitting battle armor or costumes? What of all the other mature images which do not qualify as ecchi; violent images, pictures with blood in them, depictions of war, two or several characters battling, large scale mecha battles (or even one on one mecha battles), characters wielding weapons, 'unusual' or creepy images, depictions of monsters/vampires/devils/aggressive beasts, images of characters held in prisons, pictures of characters in life or death situations. Hell, even pictures depicting relationships and marriage... I could go on seemingly forever, but I will stop there. All of this is deemed 'mature'. If everything I have mentioned is to be eradicated as well, Minitokyo will have at most 1500 gallery items left, including wallpapers and indy art.

As much as I hate the comment " Its the American thing to do. " seeing as how i'm american, I do agree with the context. Americans get all bent out of shape over the stupidest things especially when it comes to things they dont fully understand and to what was said earlier, if it offends you simply dont look at it. You have no right to judge wether or not the content is suitible for all of MT members you can only make that decision for you and your family ( if you have one. ) and also if you find it offensive based on a religous nature, then thats your belief and your problem and everyone else should not be forced to comply with your religous beliefs.

So if they say that it is offensive content or something like that so let's do it that way that you can't look at any content until you have logged in and agreed with some therms just as on the msn groups.

So you agree that there might be some images who show a bit of erotic content and that you are old enough to decide what is good for you and what is not.

And by the way, if some parents are to stupid to look at their children when they are surfing on the net and to protect them from offensive content so it's their fault.

And Google even returns results from searches for offensive or erotic content.

c'mon, the fact is, there must be hundreds of better sponsors out there, tell me, this is ridiculous actually, everything is....
The fine line between ecchi and nudity is clearly defined in most cases, no nipples no genitalia and no overall nudity.
And showing legs is ok?
Well then, I must still ask if expression wise is still not allowed it seems for that wallpaper of mine, anyway, that is not the issue here.
It is like saying, hey, first we can force this on some sites, our powers combined we will force anime out of the superior american world.
they are just too much abusing their power.
I am willing to help in looking other advertisers and I am even willing to use paypal to support this site through donations (but this does not have any agreement and it has already been denied) I am sure there must hundreds out there who are interested with advertisements, I think it is about time MT reconsider their support.
Huge sponsors like Megaupload, Imageshack, radio channels, even if it means at least half the page is occupied with ads, I say it was better than having this degradation into MT's gallery oblivion...
I may sound like a whiner, but it has made me very sad indeed.
Oh well, I guess it is about time I think twice about quitting MT.

Well, I am an American as well, and because I do live in America I am well aware of their tendency to overreact and cause hysterics over the tiniest thing which upsets them. That was a generality, yes, and was not meant to offend, as obviously not all Americans are like that, but I say that because I am far beyond disgusted at the current state of affairs of my nation. I think I will move to Germany... or Sweden, that sounds very nice.
