I accidentally uninstalled Paint on my computer. So now, I can't edit (or open)
any image file. I lost my Window XP disk, so I can't reinstall it. What can I
do?

Quote by loneknightI did that and it
asked for the Window XO Professional CD (that I
lost)
You lost your Professional CD?
Hmm... Okay, now did you install the OS yourself, or did it come
with it preinstalled?
Most OEM manufacutures (Dell, HP, etc...) should copy the XP file into
the harddrive. And if there is, it should be the "I386"
folder.
If you can find out what files are associated with Paint besides the EXE then
you can just ask someone to send you the files. Although I'm not sure if it'd
automatically register and install in when you pop it in the windows system32
folder. Also, you should consider using some other program to work you images
with. Since basically all other image programs have superior algorithms than
MSpaint. =b

Go Add/Remove programs.
Click on Add/Remove Windows components.
It should be in the Accessories category.

try there... or check google for the mspaint.exe
You can always try using Paint.NET as an alternative.
search for the filename on P2P or something, and remember that paint is better in 98 because sometimes it doesn't AA images on resize.

But MS Paint is just so easy and convenient to use...
Anyways, not good idea to lose an OS CD.
Hmm there are lots of editing software out there if you really need...like Picasa, Pixia, Photofiltre....all freeware too!
