sorry for late intro but i used to have a slow dial line so only used to come
here once a month or so.
but now i've got a broadband so here i'm.
Im Ashrak from London, UK for now as i'm from Bangladesh to be exact.
I've started my anime watching with Patlabor back in my country around 1995 when satelite channels have
just arrived and there was few jap channels. i was in 4th grade then and didn't
understand a single word but I really enjoyed it for some reason maybe it was
faith. then i got to see the Robotech in
Star Plus in english 1996 which is not an
anime to be precise but its almost as same as Macross. Then on a friend's request who only gave me few details of
story i download Neon Genesis Evangelion
over my 56kb dial up line via
iMesh and Kazaa in year 2000 after i bought my first ever PC and was just
getting into this internet thing. each episode took me around 7 days but i was
really happy as i've seen my second anime after 4 years of break from anime and
now i know how to collect more.
Apparently my friend never asked for Evangelion, actually the details he gave me was for Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure which he saw
back when he was in Iran (yes u did read it right
they air anime in Iran in Iranian language). But i did manage to get it so it
was my second anime. then i did download some anime (which include Robotech,
Cowboy Bebop, Tekkaman Blade, 4 eps of Iria, 7 eps of Escaflowne) with my dial
up as it was nearlly impossible to find anime on VCD or DVD in my country and
still is.
Well its rather a large intro but when u spend days downloading a single episode
of anime then watch that precious 22 or so min of pure pleasure and
then after couple of year later get to no so many people who loves anime like u,
ull go a little bit of track. my applogy again to make u read such long intro or
story .

Wow, that is a lot of dedication just to get a few episodes. I was lucky because
my brother was able to borrow anime from his friends. Well, I hope that you

That's amazing what you have done... especially since unlike your country, anime
have always been on the air (if we skip maybe 3,4 years) when I grow
up.
But I've thought that Macross and Robotech were the same thing... except that
Robotech was its western name.

I've to say though I've never been to a forum as active as minitokyo.
Also it feels very familiar & cosy like u know every one. maybe bcoz

Yes Robotech and Macross are same. Only they changed few scene and the name of
the charecters. Also original Macross only covers first 36 eps of Robotech or
season one. Then harmony gold use two other shows from the studio of Macross to
make other eps of Robotech bcoz around that time there was some kind studio
policy in US that import shows have to be longer. ahh I miss old days.
