This is something that came to my mind when Ichigo&co. first reached Soul Society
In bleach's world every "Pluses" (Or "Wholes" if you like) and Hollows go to Soul Society after they've been liberated by a zanpaktou (sp?)
Soul Society at first glance looks like a city from the Edo period, however, this only makes sense since the plot takes place in japan and the series itself originated in Japan
but what happens to Souls at other places in the world?
Do Souls in the US go to a Soul Society that's modeled after a colonial period city where the captains look like Generals from the American Revolution?
Do souls in europe go to a rennisance city where captains look like Royal Nobles?
Do Souls in South America go to an Aztec and/or Incan city where the captains look like tribal warriors?
just a random thought XP
Ha, yes, what a random thought. I don't think what you thought is true. That's like asking why everyone, regardless of their nationality, speaks perfect Japanese in anime. We'll never know o_o
And besides, I recall one of the guys... umm, the guy who was friends with Shibata... he said that he was from some other country or something (it was soooo long ago...).
In the viz translation, he says "there are people from all over the place here" and "I died in the 22nd year of the Showa era in Yamanashi."
While my scan says "there are people who died in many different times and places." and "just so you know, I died at the age of 22 in Yamanashi"
(And that guy looked more like he was 14...:\)
So I don't think he was actually from another country or anything, because Yamanashi sounds VERY Japanese. On the other hand, I think Yoruichi is from another country(Cause there aren't many black people in Japan...)
So I'd think they just go to the same place. It's just Japanese because Bleach was made in Japan.
Good point.I've always been wondering.Very reasonable conclusions.Oh well, cartoons don't have to make sense...
Oh, I know. Soul Society SO does not make sense if you're trying to include other countries beside Japan in the lot.
Maybe
there are other sections of Soul Society for the people from other countries?
And since we're dealing with Ichigo's story and Ichigo lives in Japan, that's
why we see only this part of Soul Society?
Well i don't believe that they separate the souls in nationality categories!I mean have u ever seen a black nigga Japanese! The fact that they talk Japanese perfectly is the fact that it is Jp oriented..That's wht i believe
I think the Soul Society from their point of view is just a part of it. It has to be A WHOLE LOT BIGGER, because when you see fox captain before het was a shinigami he had a different style of clothes. Anyway that's how I see it
Well I still think souls have a different dimensions with humans so the borders and boundaries in human's world such as place and others doesn't mean a lot for souls...they have different boundaries I can't explain. But surely, I still have to learn a lot 'bout this
Yeah well it's true, anime doesn't have to make sense. it's anime, after all. you can't explain why Tousen Koname is a black African and has japanese name and speaks japanese....and you can't explain why a fox which is an animal at all can have anything to do with being a human shinigami. how do people make 'food' in soul society, like water and bread? lol...they just exist, it's anime.
