Well well, now that it is said and done, we noticed the sudden influx of advertisements on Minitokyo.

I am in favor of this, if it helps the site to stay on longer and eventually help get more revenue for the site to stay alive, and maybe even better replace the need for Google to sponsor the site, it will be good.

However, I have some questions:
1. are the new advertisers potential permanent sponsors?

2. Is MT still gonna go with Google?

3. Will this be continuing on long term to gain support for this site?

4. Lets say a successful shift from Google to other potential sponsors, will MT be able to re-clarify itself from a family friendly site to somewhere a little higher? you know...at least PG-13.

And for the members:

1. What do you all think? Do you support more advertisements? For the better of the site in the long run?

2. Or are you against it? Give a reason.

I have said so in many places in MT, and I am honestly very concerned, if this will help to lift the way Google is enforcing policies which are set due to the fact MT was registered as a Family safe site, we had to follow that, let's say, a major new sponsor is willing, and MT can redefine itself,..is that possible?

I know I may be making less sense here, and the obvious fact is, the recent cut down of gallery scans and restrictions have limited a lot of potential contributions (namely suggestive images even) and well, if this move will help to bring back the good old, good old, I am in every favor to support it.

I wouldn't like for this webpage to become comertial, but as you said, it's been said before that the advertisements are like the oxigen of MT, it's one of the more important factors that keeps it alive.

Anyway, the kinda bother me a bit, but... right now, just the way the site is, it's ok. no more, no less.

I'm just starting to notice them at the top of every page I open now...I swear it wasn't doing that early when I made a comment about the new ads in the server move thread. I definetly dont like them in that location. I understand the necessity of it, but thats taking away from everyone's personalized user page, really makes it look bad. Is there a way that they can be moved to a less "eyesore" of a spot on the page?

i guess so, but that is the point of ads, it is supposed to be annoying and attention grabbing, though i don't care less as long as it answers the prayer for MT to keep going and get better.

They're not bad on the side of the page but I agree that they need to go from the top of the page. It just looks ugly up there. Maybe move it down to the bottom underneath the reply box or something.

If the ads are necessary for MT to continue to be running, then I don't mind.

I am a recently new member, so I didn't notice the cut back in the gallery. As for it being 'family friendly', I'm not for or against it. I'm personally not someone who likes the more 'adult' art. So if they did bring it back, it wouldn't matter to me. I just wouldn't look at it. But it does seem that a lot of people are against this...

The advertisements on MT are a necessary evil I suppose, and I dont really mind them the way they are running at the present time. Some sites I have visited have way too many advertisements but on MT I feel the ads are minimal and not overly bothersome. As steted by others, if the ads keep MT going for us, and MT keeps improving...I cant complain.

some of them are fine, but the one with the dog yanking the woman after it drives me up the wall cuz it annoys me so much and it's always there.

if they're text ads like the one to the left of the screen, I'm not bothered. it's the ones on the right side of the screen that piss me off.

I didn't think they would be any bother at all at the very corner. I am not allowed to put them at the bottom of the page.

These ads are totally screwing up the overall layout of the website. The animated ones are super annoying. They're so annoying, I'd like an option, donate money to remove ads (for a set amount of time or bandwidth usage). Googles ads were not annoying and didn't bother me... However, if these Flash ads continue... I don't know what I'll do.

First, these ads are messing up the layout CCS code of MT. My cursor in both new Windows and Macintosh computers is slowing to a crawl. Second, and more serious is that I have already seen a couple of these ads to not meet even the old/original descency standards here at MT.

Like when I started reading this thread, there was an ad on the right hand side showing cows rumping each other (having sex). I've seen other questionable material from these ads too. If MT can not control what kind of ads these people can and can't post on this site, I won't be the only angry member leaving the community. Advertisers should have to adhere to the same decency standards that we memebers follow.

I enjoyed this site because it was for anime and forums. Not only are the advertisments annoying byut their not even related to anything this website is suppose to stand for. I completly understand the nned for them and will put up with them if thats what needs to be done but if their not even anime related could they be put somewhere a little more subtle, the ones at the top of the page are especially yuck!

maybe ask if any arts site might wanna share?
for example DevArt has a lot of sponsors and art networks, perhaps you can check it out.

I see.. have you thought of adding another section, to the left-hand side for advertisements, much like you have with the others? Or maybe even add it to the right, again, rather than having it up top.

The issue is not so much why ads are there, mainly their positioning. I don't care about ads being on a page. I haven't complained about them, before, t'was only the positioning of these that caused my complaint in the thread I created. Way to go.. you're twisting most everything people are saying.

Dating advertisments.....this site has a very large number of kids and people under 18 on it. They SHOULD NOT be clicking on half the things been advertised anyway and i'm sure most parents wouldn't want them clicking on any advertisments at all.

Advertisements are dangerous for kids, i know this very, very well after an incident with my little brother (i wont go into detail). I wasn't a huge supporter of the ecchi cause i agree it got out of hand, but seriously, if your going to have all the adds here you might as well bring it all back. Neither of them are family friendly. If there's an add on the side for people over 18 then the page itself should only be for people over 18.....is this not common sense?
