Is it possible for a moderator not to reward you with credits?

I was just wondering if it's possible for a moderator to not reward you with credits when you report because they possibly don't like you? Do you keep track of who reports and note that a member is contributing to the community? Because, how do you possibly know who's actually contributing? The moderators have to be noting that somewhere. That's the only way that one can actually be promoted. How would anyone know if someone has been contributing a substantial amount to the community if no one noted it.

No one is being promoted on the simple basis of 'reporting'. A member has to be constantly helpfull in MT to be promoted : writing thoughtfull comments or posts in threads, reporting, helping out the mods to clarify some situations, giving directions to newbies... such things can get someone promoted.
I think one of the mod has a site where it states how one could get promoted, and the FAQ about mods :)

About rewarding you credits or not for a given report, i believe it's more of an automated process : if the mod decides to delete or move or take action against the reported object, then you are automatically rewarded with credits. On the contrary, if he deems that the reported object should not be removed, you don't get anything.
I'm not sure though if it's how it actually works ^_^'

all i know is, if you don't make a good report don't expect it to work. IMO
do include the link for ripped artwork, or stolen artwork, post the link to the duped thread, or report it with a reason like "deleted signature on wallpaper, clearly a rip", that should be able to do it.
I know mine works...cause no matter how I spend...it doens't quite decrease...
especially since I do make a lot of reasonably long posts and at the same time, have my wallpapers whored as well as reporting...there are a lot of them around.

Before you speculate on member promotions, I strongly suggest that you read Tama-Neko's article on Elite Members thoroughly.

Reports will give you credits if it was useful. Bad reports will earn you nothing. Repeated submission of bad reports can be deemed report spamming and may lead to administrative action. So do follow the general rules for reporting that DevilDude has enumerated.
