What is your Computers' Name?

Hardware, Software & Internet

NOT USERNAMES! :) I was wondering how many name their computers....... Since I am building a huge media center for my house I will have three names:

Isis (The Egyptian Goddess):
She is my current and will be the primary link to the 'net. She was built after I decided to put off the HTPC project until I return to the States, where the parts will be readily available.

Osiris (The Egyptian God of the Dead):
Since my HTPC project DID indeed die, I decided to name this system like the Egyptian history stated. Osiris will be "resurrected" in the US in August.......

........and finally..........

Ra (The Egyptian Father of Gods): Ra is going to be difficult. Ra is to be a massive storage unit! It will hold all of my current AND future music, anime downloads, audio visual editing and gaming programs.

I am still pricing and looking for the materials and learning how to build and properly run a RAID system separate from Isis. Ra will be compatible with the HTPC (Osiris), by a wireless interface controlled by Isis. Sounds confusing? Yeah I guess I do sound stupid...... ^_^'

The RAID tower will be able to transfer files to the HTPC by a wireless link, which will be controlled by the PC. The PC will be link either wireless or by LAN to the RAID tower for either storage or system operations.

Now that I have told my intentions (and the names of each system) what are your computers names? :D

Well my Laptop ...

I call her Lapty ^_^

LOL

Malcolm.
Don't laugh ^_^'
My comp is a smarta$$ like Malcolm from "Malcolm in the middle" so I call him Malcolm. :3

My computer's name is Bob and my TV's name is Elmo Jr. cause it is the second TV that I have had. :D

FCS Canal. For those 3 people out there who have seen Lost Universe, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I named my comp Omoikane. Omoikane refers to the anime Martian Successor Nadesico (The computer Ruri associates with). I would name my laptop "Lappy" XD

I named it Atashi
from this...

Mine is simply labelled as The Archive, since it's a personal library of my own design...makes me think of a mysticl order down in the catacombs, that sort of thing

Yes, cheesy, but who cares, right?

Games Machine - Misuzu
DHCP/File server - Hinata
Day-to-Day Desktop - Hikari
Laptop - Sumomo
Dual-Processor server that doesn't do anything except chew power - Natsume

I usually just go with a name from something that has my attention at the time, (I built Misuzu when I was watching Air, Hinata when Naruto was awesome, I bought Sumomo after first seeing Chobits and Natsume halfway through Mahoraba. The only exception is Hikari (Konomini), which I knew would be named so from the moment I took up my wallet and went shopping. It's fitting that the computer I use for a majority of my computing time should share the same name as the first anime girl to get to me.)

I tend to name the cases rather than the actual computer inside, so even after I upgrade them repeatedly they still retain the names. That's why my old laptop (Shinku) never left the name behind.

Mine is "LegoMan" i orginally planned to build the case out of legos, but it didn't happen

Lol, my computer doesn't have a name... do many people name their computers? :D

If it did have a name, it would probably be an Egyptian/Greek/Roman god or goddess name. I like yours, LigerZSchnider!

mine kinda like lungata's i call her: Lappy.

I am the proud owner of a Huge E-Mac. "G-4" I call her the "Digital Empress" (don't ask. . .) I also have this semi-dismantled Win95 creature I call. "Frankie" (as in Frankenstien)

Nope, I break 'em so often avoiding attachment is advisable. I have been known to decorate the case with stickers and stuff though.

Out computers are just named after whoever owns/uses them, so it easy to access the right person's files on a network.

Oh and LigerZSchnider, good luck with your plan.

the machine... i dunno not creative is it lol.

I call my computer "^_____________^" lol. Its a bit funny, since I always forget how many underscores I use in that name.
I also named my external hard drives... but no idea what I'll name my future computers, as once I get home, I'll be setting up my own 3 computer network XD.

I named my computere Asuka Sohryu Langely cause she's my favorite character from Evangelion.

I named my hard drives Melchior, Casper, and Balthasar from the three MAGI computers from Evangelion which got their names from the three wise men.

I called my computer Psycho. It fits: it turns itself off for no reason at all and with no pattern at all, but only if I'm in the middle of something important. I type with 8 fingrs only: the other 2 are busy pressing Ctrl and S. However, it didn't use to be like this when I named it, I think it just grew fond of the name and wanted to make me proud and really deserve it.

Blb ... it's a czech word, in english means something like dummy

my computer and me are in a sort of combination that's hard to understand... it's just like living together, and caring about each other... it's just like me, a kind of technological extention of my being... so it's name is cruz (the way my sister and my friends call me ^^ )

.............
K, Let's see

>>My PC is a " HE " his name is <<[C] [U] [R] [S] [E]>>
>>= Curse
>> i love this word and i dont kno why ...
>> Still wanderin'

>>> My Laptop is a " SHE "
>>> Her name is --->>[Craz]<<---

>>>>> Curse is Craz's younger brother!

have you ever thought of having a name like Gruntmaster 5000? once saw it in Dilbert comics, can't remember what that thing was anyway...

I named my desktop "Bob" ... as in Planet Bob from Titan A.E.
The laptop I simply named "Flathead" - obvious I think.
Didn't name the TV though ... hmmm, should consider it....

I believe I've seen this topic before but
I can't seem to find it.

LigerZSchnider:

You naming method is similar to
one of the Administrators (forgot the username),
s/he has name it according to the Indian gods or something.
