first thing first, i hope i did not create a new thread about an already talked
to death topic
i just noticed that one of my wallpapers has been deleted because " it
violated one or more of the following policies:
- It featured hentai or pornography, which is not allowed in any form or shape.
This includes, but is not limited to: nudity, sexually inclined pictures or
explicit sexual pictures, bondage, sado masochism. Nude defines itself as
exposing nipples and/or genitals.
- Offensive contents, including racistical utterance, in any form or
shape."
as a sidenote, i would like to underline that it was a tenjo tenghe
wallpaper.
so, how does one create a tenjo wall that is absolutely not ecchi and therefore
acceptable.
i mean, is there a tenjo artwork which doesn't have at least a little nudity in
it or explicite sexual reference ? (yeah, i know i could have use a picture with
two guys fighting but
that's not really what tenjo is all about).
so, the question is, doesn't Minitokyo 's rule seems a little to restrictive to
you as it is now ?
i understand the need to moderate and to put to quarantine hentai pictures and
wallpapers but should ecchi be put in the same category ?
I may be wrong but it seems to me that ecchi is definitely one of the major
aspects of anime wallpapers. some may deny it but i suspect that many users and
wallpapers lovers are attracted to ecchi walls and i wonder if Minitokyo isn't
making a mistake by putting to quarantine wallpapers that aren't really that
offensive.
do not mistake me: i respect MT's rules and will continue to do so but i do
question its somewhat severity.

Heh... I do agree with you that sometimes Minitokyos policy is little too
strict... But I just guess that they have reasons to put those rules so
no-can-do
Well I'm sure there have to be pictures in the gallery on minitokyo that are
echii but not suggestive. You can use echii pictures so long as it meets those
requirements. Echii is not banned from MT, the mods just had to step up a notch
on what was allowed. Any sexually suggestive content was not to be allowed any
longer.
Well, I think that MTs rules/policy can be a little bit too strict . I
have seen plenty of scans/wallies/artwork that are more ecchi/erotic than those
scans that get deleted. And it is as you say, how can a Tenjou Tenge
scan/wall/artwork survive if the mods cant accept ecchi? I know that sometimes
they have to say "STOP. We have to delete this.", but there are other
scans that are very ecchi too, and they dont even touch it (I think
o.o).
Its very strict now, but they have to do something. Or else we would see hentai
all over the place o.o. Would be bad for the kids ^^
well... no I don't think policy is too harsh, since the
"It featured hentai or pornography, which is not allowed in any form or
shape. This includes, but is not limited to: nudity, sexually inclined pictures
or explicit sexual pictures, bondage, sado masochism. Nude defines itself as
exposing nipples and/or genitals." thingy isnt our fault... it because of
the "advertisement and sponsors issues" the policy
we were forced to delete them, its not because we wented to.
since there were people complaining about it... and blah blah blah.
well, I dont think the policy is too strict, compared to animepaper.net... they
are alot more strict then us ^_^; we have alot more freedom.
just because we dont allow ecchi stuff, doesn't mean we are "too
harsh"
if you like ecchi, then go somewhere else.
you all have already noted that since the "advertisement and sponsors
issues" the policy has taken a leap from strict to "absolutely family
safe" am I correct?
I was wondering however, last I checked, it seemed to have gona one step again,
instead of allowing wide range of swinwear (which include splits (open in the
center), bikinis) the idea seem to have shifted a lot more, it appears to me
that yes... it seemed they disallowed over suggestive swimwear as well, however,
I definitely do not see it that way, it seems the disallow swimwear that are not
even too much... Groundsquirrel's
JE Q'd pics
Namely the ones in the above thread. I find one with the split center one was
not even close to that, so is the lady with gun holster belt and silver 2 piece.
there was a shot in Tenjho Tenge that featured the "exploding chick" I
dunno whats her name... namely > Crimson Sorrow by
endsoftheworld99
that was really artistic nudity, but again may contain really suggestive means,
depends on how you view it. I like to think that it was artistic nudity, as the
feature incorporates more art than nudity, it is somewhere in between.
But last I heard, the policy is still being reviewed. Granted, it should be
revealed soon enough.
I of course, disagree with most of it, however, who am I to complain, after all,
sadly enough this site was registered as family safe (which I think was a
problem, since the generic idea was that arts is never family safe, except for
your regular comics, and a majority of anime based art is not meant for kids
anyway).
Anyhow, I think I am not too supportive of it, so far I hardly (or if any at
all) reported anything that was overly revealing, simply because I do not agree
with it, unless it is outright hentai, I prefer to just report rips.
Quote: so, how does one create a

Well then, perhaps there
shouldn't be a Tenjou Tenge category at all. As I understand it, even AnimePaper
has removed a whole host of categories such as Tenjou Tenge where just about all
hentai or overly-suggestive ecchi simply because the overwhelming majority of
submissions crossed the line.
The rules are never arbitary; as the former policy czar, I can tell you
that significant consideration and discussion goes into any policy change or new
policy, and the same is certainly true for the mature image rules that you bring
up.
This policy has already been discussed at length on other threads, and it's
counterproductive to continue. As has been pointed out numerous times already,
to use Google advertisements, which pay for Minitokyo, the content on Minitokyo
has to meet the appropriateness criteria set by Google. As our experimentation
with other types of banner ads clearly showed us, Google pays well, has the
least obnixous advertisements, and its advertisements are for the most part
germane to Minitokyo. Alternatives can be flagrantly tasteless (e.g. dating
ads), obnoxious (flashing ads), or otherwise inappropriate or not compatible
with the purpose or philosophy of this community.
The policies are here to ensure the best experience for the community as a
whole. We do not pretend to be an omnibus site; if you want hentai or very
suggestive ecchi, this is not the place for you.

Proper categories of ecchi anime (in which case Tenjo IS NOT), overly suggestive
anime, is still preserved, at least until there is a need to diminish their
numbers.
After all, AP abided by their ideals to preserve ANIME based categories, not of
any doujins, artists, that have nothing but hentai on their lists.
That said, it is more reasonable that way.
well, i'm glad to see i'm not the only one a little annoyed by these stricter
rules
@ B4U:
i never thought the sponsors would be that sensitive over some ecchi or sexually
offensive wallpapers and scans but it's only common sense for you to remove what
could make the sponsors withdraw their support.
@ shinsengumi:
alright, i won't debate over the harshness of the rules if you think it's
already been talked about too much.
just as a sidenote, i never said i was a "hentai or very suggestive
ecchi" fan as you put it but i still think it's too bad if some anime/manga
aren't represented on a site like Minitokyo.
i mean, tenjo isn't a hentai manga, books and anime are officially distributed
in most countries without an age restriction (at least, where i come
from).
Even if "The rules are never arbitary", i found it hard to think that
anime like, for example, tenjo, shakugan no shana, aemanede yo, girls bravo,
brust angel, love hina or Ikki Tousen which all are full of ecchi shots and
explicite sexual references should somehow disappear from Minitokyo.
i think it's a safe statement to say that since love hina's airing, a great many
new anime shows are plagued by fanservice and ecchi shots.
i think you'll agree that it would a shame for Minitokyo to be forced to censure
a whole batch of these new anime shows if the rules were to be even stricter
about that peculiar aspect.
i hope you understand my position and the fact i only wanted to be given an
explanation and that i wasn't (even if you seem to think so) criticizing
Minitokyo's rules.
Ten Ten is a tricky gallery to over-see because it can range from mild &
acceptable ecchi to outrageously over the top nudity.
As for MT's policy being "unfair", is it fair that MT should close
because of ecchi that is "too mature"? Of course it isn't. But I would
rather keep MiniTokyo open and family friendly, than have it closed because of
gratuitous images of girls in suggestive poses.
Our sponsors have made it perfectly clear that they will withdraw all revenue if
MiniTokyo is not suitable for family browsing. They have also given examples of
what they consider to be unsuitable, and they were (in my personal opinion)
considerably tame.
But the thread at the time covered this, and it's not the time or place to go
stirring that old hornet's nest up again.
Regarding accusations that other scans survive while your own work is deleted...
it's because you aren't using that magical little link that says REPORT. When
you use that to report material that is unfit for family browsing, then we can
delete it. There are so many thousands of scans, and despite the amount of times
we look into all the past submissions, we can not always find every single
guilty scan. That is why the Report function is there, so you can help us to
keep MiniTokyo clean.
And if you think that AP's removal of galleries by certain artists is the right
direction that we should go in, then ask yourself whether you would prefer a
complete purge of all galleries pertaining to erotic artists and unofficial
artwork... or would you at least you are still able to view their more clean and
appropriate material here? AP is a very different site to MT, and while I know
many people want to compare both sites endlessly, the truth of the matter is
that we'll both cut back on over the top ecchi in different ways regardless of
what the other site does. The people who benefit are the members because you can
gather material from one site that you can't on the other, and visa versa.
I don't think it is too strict at all...yes I was a little disappointed that it
got stricter however as a mother of stepdaughter who is 12 and loves anime I
have no problem with my daughter browsing this site as she loves anime.
If google is sponsering this site and is paying, who wants to bite the hand that
feeds...I hope no one and I think we all just need to suck it up and be happy
that this site is still open and that we are able to share our artwork and just
have fun overall...

I have no problem with anything about the MT's policy. I think that if they want
to keep a friendly enviornment then there shouldn't be any hentai or stuff like
that. Casue if hentai was allowed, then some pervs would only join the site to
pick up the pics & then leave & not come back unless the site has new
pics. In other words this site isn't just for pics, it's to share your opinion
with others & talk to people who understand. I'am talking about the forums
of course.
it has gotten stricter, but I'm not about to argue because it's not like
deviantART. deviantART is dictatorship compared to MT, and I don't want to raise
a big stink about it and possibly make the admins here tighten the belts even
more.
Actually, I find it okay. There is nothing too wrong... About the hentai thing,
it actually encourages you to not look at pornography.
The rest of the rules, I think are there to keep the place in order better.
