I'm going to grade 11 next year and I'm not sure if I should take Saturday math next year. My parents really want me to, but I don't like it. If I go, I'll have to face crapped up time in the *cough*mathclass*cough*. If I don't my parents will get mad at me because they think taking math is good for me. I've taken extra math since Grade 2 nonstop and I'm still taking it. Almost all of my friends don't take extra math and I dun wanna spend a Saturday in front of a lecture. So should I take extra math next year?

Well first of all. Do you mean by taking a Math class on Saturday? If not then what is it then? I'll help you as much as i can.

i think you shouldn't try that unless your going into the 12th grade and your low on cerdits. unless your trying to to graduate early, other wise i think it's a waste of time.

Ouch. What math level is it? If it's easy and you know you can do it, than save the trouble of being yelled at and take it. Plus, if you can graduate early, than go for it. If you're going to college afterwards, than getting in early might seem tough, but it's well worth it to start as soon as possible. But, if you think that it's gonna be hard and you'll just suffer through it, just enjoy life as is. You've got what, 2 years left in school and you want to take the most from it. Not just academic knowledge, but life knowledge (what can more applicable ^_^?). Anywho, good luck! ^_~

Sure, but if the course is worth the time and effort put into it. I took morning classes at 7 for Chem AP, and found out it wasn't worth my time when I could spend it on my other courses. But I ended up taking Calculus for Semester 2 (which takes up all my holidays since we need to cram everything in to prepare for the final in May). It was fun, since the teacher bought us snacks :D

well if you think that its worth it!
i have literally no weekends but it doesnt mean that i can;t have fun

First off, what level of math is it, and is it advanced for your grade level (not a "catch-up" course)? Ex: Algebra, Geometry/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus? And is it just a course for more knowledge, high school credits, and/or college credits? From that information most people can then give you a wider and better informed opinion.

But IMO, as long as you understand the material then taking extra math is easy. I took a bunch of community college courses during my junior and senior years of high school (they were taught at my high school and during normal HS hours). And upon entering my first year of university I was a sophomore already (1/3 of the credits from math courses), which gave me some seniority benefits over the other college freshman. Such as having higher priority registration (which is huge when everyone is fighting tooth & nail for a spot in a class). Of course the extra credits can be taken from any subject and AP courses.

if not taking it won't hurt you, then don't take it. screw what your parents want, especially because once you're in college, their word is worthless in terms of classes and scheduling. be a normal kid, it won't kill them to let you.

Wait, how hard is this lesson you actually need to take? I mean, if it is something you're way behind at, then you should take it. If it is something that you can live without, and you won't fail Math the next year, then don't take it.

Although I have to say, if I were in your position, I would take it. I'd rather be assured of passing than panic last minute trying to find a way to pass 11th grade. ^^

Oh, and one more thing, I took one before, and it was 4 hours every Saturday (for 7 weeks), and it wasn't bad. It helps.
