I still keep my opinion that the MT policy on the quality of the subitted work
is too harsh sometimes... but, it's their site, I figured that I'm not good
enough, so I'll just let that be that.
I thought I'd still share my wallpapers, so I'll post them here. This thread
will most likely be updated as time goes by...

Yes, most of your walls were probably removed due to ghosting. MT has kind of a
strict policy regarding that. Since it just uses the same image over again most
people find it redundant and the first one was probably removed due to using
screenshots.
@ Kabura - Thanks for the support! Well, I admit that there *are* some
wallpapers that probably weren't good enough, but still - it's annoying to work
for days on end on a wallpaper and then have them deleted.
@ nejika - Yep, my SC wallpaper got deleted, too... *sigh* Although I had
intended to keep the background simple on purpose, and I did state so in my
notes. But nooo... it was wrong, so off with its head! ...or something Anywayz, I'm working on an English website to feature my wallpapers. Until
then, mine is good enough (the Romanian one). Glad you liked it

too harsh. Ghosting is a technique like any other, and it's not *always*
redundand. I've seen wallpapers that use 'ghosting' and are great. As for
screenshots, I made sure that those I used in the wallpaper were clean and
weren't grainy or of poor quality... again, that's way too hars a policy. Well,
like I said, it's their site, and it's their problem what they do. But in this
way, they don't think that they may discourage a lot of members... Whatever.
yeah, I agree that the policy is a bit harsh. but what bothers me the most is
that when they delete it, they don't give you specific reasons why, they just say it's "not good enough
quality", or that "maybe you didn't put enough effort into it"
(which angers me the most, because we all take the time and effort to create
them).
As for ghosting, I agree with you, it's a neat effect if done
correctly.

wallpapers get dist only if thy got copyed or are low on qwality bot urs are not
both so i dont get it bot i hope thy fixs it for u

he sometimes put days of work into is simply dumped like a used tissue.
@ zuuti: In the end I got *some* reasons, and I admit that they were just up to
some extent. Still, banning a wallpaper, no matter how good / bad it is, simply
because it used screenshots (like the Rey one) or ghosting (although I might
have exaggerated a bit with it - but still), is irk-ish. As for my latest
wallpapers (the ones I have updated today) - and especially the last one (the
Samurai Champloo one) - that was simply mean. Sure, they weren't good enough for
the elite gallery, but they were still good enough to be in the regular gallery,
because I've seen much worse stuff there.
That's about it with my lamentations for today...
And now for the practical part: does anyone know some good tips / hints /
tutorials on creating a background from scratch? I'm thinking about something
abstract, like blobs of light, stars, whatever. Any help would be apreciated

I just thought I'd share this wallpaper with the rest of the world, too, since
it got deleted in the end... I solemnly swear that this will be my last
wallpaper to get deleted. After all, I do feel that I've progressed a lot in the
meantime... Oh well. More GS goodness
