I love anime, but I've never really been able to get into mangas for some odd reason. I know that it's the exact opposite for some other people. Which do you guys like, anime or manga, and tell why.

anime is motional, manga is not. ( run )

I prefer Manga to Anime, the obvious thing is time difference, but there is also more time to appreciate the art because they're still images not moving like in Anime. You can also usually fit more into a manga volume, and in some the story progresses better.

Anime also has sound, another one of its upsides over manga. A good soundtrack can really make a difference.

I'm at a draw.

For me, it's manga.
I can read it on the bus, before class, waiting in line, etc. Also, I can flip ahead and skip parts I don't like. Or to get to the parts I do like.
Plus, it's way cheaper. Used Japanese bookstores are awesome. $1-$3 per book is reasonable even for a college student.

I like them both equally. Each one has its pluses and minuses. I love anime for the ability to see and hear the story in motion. I love manga for the deeper characterization, backstory, and plot. So, I can't choose between the two.

i love the manga because they art style soo..detail,and i love the animation too because i can see they move.so i love them both

If I could read Japanese I'd probably prefer manga too, but since I can't I'll say anime. Besides motion and sound really grab my attention, I only occassionally would love a still shot, but that's why people here make lovely wallpapers

well manga i can take with me anywhere, is cheaper, and usually has a better story than the anime, but thats true of most any book to screen adaptations.
anime however is easier to get into because the movement, dialog, color, and music all help to draw you in.
personally i like comic books as well, and prefer color comics to black and white, which is part of the reason that anime appeals to me over manga. i've heard some people say that black and white is just as good, but then i don't see any of them with black and white tv's.....

I like both manga and anime. Manga help me learn to read Japanese text and anime help me practice hearing and speak Japanese.

yes i agree with some of yall...it's the music,and the animation that gets me..manga is ok but their mostly in black and white i dont like that..i had guyver and it was cool but i lost that?...anyway...i like anime better...
i mean i wouldnt ming doing either like job wise but i perfer anime cgi...

manga all the way!!!! anime sometimes they butcher the ecchiness or violence of the manga... XO

suppose im more for manga, but that depends really.

"Love Hina (tv)" for example, it didnt go exactly as the manga did, but still managed to be pretty good. then "LH again" comes out and compared to the manga, i just didnt like it.
"Prince of Tennis", is farther than the manga (thank you l33t!) and follows almost the same story (matches differ here and there), but i'd rather see it than read it.

I do like manga because it's cheaper than anime, but I just prefer the animation and motion of anime. I do know that some manga's are butchered when they're converted to anime's, like sailor moon for example.

in Animes gibt es nämlich vieles was es in Mangas nicht gibt
z.B alles ist in Farbe es gibt BGM, Opening und Endings, es ist alles synchronisiert u.s.w
in Mangas weiß man nicht immer welche Farben z.B die Charas haben
nur wenn sie zufällig aufm Cover abgebildet sind
und in Artbooks, gäbe es keinen Anime zu Angel Sanctuary
wüsste ich zum Beispiel nicht welche Fabren Metatron hat ;_____;

i like both .. but Manga is better ... alot more faster to download and u can understand it well

Totally depends on the serie, both anime and manga has it's positive and negative sides, impossible to choose one over the other..

hm...lets see now..manga is good for when u don´t have anything to do ,like when u are waiting at the bus or the train...it is always slightly different from the anime...more stuff fits in it...u can always make up a "voice" to the characters urself...u get a little bit more for the money since the difference between the manga and anime prices are almost 10 dollars away from eachother sometimes... hm..and then...I like the sensation of reading manga..I´ve always laughed when reading...

anime..hm..anime is good when u are really really bored and have nothing to do at all when u are home..it can easely cheer u up and u always find new things everytime u look at it...but unfortunately not all series exist in anime form and then u would miss a whole lot of fun...anime is often better than the manga of the same serie because when there is something that is´nt as attractive in the manga u can remove it in the anime and that may make it better.... well i hate dubbs.... the voices done in japansese are so much better since the japansese ppl have done this for a pretty long time and have professionals doing it...the probability that a famous voiceactor in the us or other country dubbs it is very rare and only happens if someone has alot of money and time...

hm...i would acually have to say manga...but anime can be better in some cases...I agree with that but..well...manga..makes me a little mor happier ^^

anime and manga are about equal in my book because they are different mediums there are some things you can/can't do in each.
