So what do people think of this manga? I read the whole thing, and when I
reached the ending, I was kind of disappointed. The impression that I got was
that they merely wanted to finish the series, and that they didn't take a lot of
time composing a satisfactory ending. THere was a lot that CLAMP could have done
with this series, and I don't think they were willing to spend the time and
energy on it. Which is really too bad, because it's a good series. I liked it.
But it was not very well wrapped up.
yeah, the ending wasn't what I expected. I thought it was something really
huge... but it was rather sudden and abrupt. but I like shorter series (ones
that don't drag on and on). Wish was short and sweet for me.
Clamp has stated in some articles (especially in Clamp no Kiseki vol.7) that
Wish didn't unfold as they planned, and they find it to be a mistake in
retrospect. They went with what they thought the public wanted: humour and
cuteness, with an abrupt happy ending. Ohkawa says they should have stuck with
her original storyline, and that "if I could do a remake, the story would
be completely different".
So even the greatest mangaka aren't safe from professional missteps...

I really wish they would remake it. I would love to see how they originally
planned the ending. I liked how they did it this time, but the story, as
previously stated, is really abruptly ended. So I'd like to see how it was
SUPPOSED to be.
ehhh i've only read the first 2 volumes... but so far i think it's kinda
boring... there's nothing really moves the reader (IMO) but eh. maybe i'll
finish the series.. someday ^^
They probably won't remake it though. They're overloaded with stuff they haven't
finished (Tsubasa, xxxHOLiC, Lawful Drug, Clover, Kobato, and most importantly
X) that it's highly unlikely that they will remake an old series. Would be cool
if they did though.
I agree. I think, however, it is worth finishing. Or that may just be me, who
can't go without finishing a series unless it's truly truly horrible. This one
was just mediocre and not very well planned out. The characters are cute though.
I read some where that the magazine that the manga was being published in wanted
the story to end a certain way or that CLAMP's ending was'nt what they wanted. I
think that the ending was just a quick finish just so that the rest of the story
could get published. Something like how X never finished being published because
the magazine felt that CLAMP's ending was going to be too violent or w/e.
Lol, wow.... That's pretty crazy. I kind of like that CLAMP isn't really afraid
to be violent in a shoujo vein of manga. I think that's pretty cool. Wish had so
much potential... It made me kind of sad.

No angst, no blood, no tragedies. That's Wish. Although the ending is, hm, brusque and unexpected, I still like it. It's sweet and cute. ^^

why did it end that way?
CLAMP could've done better.
T_T
... pretty shallow to say the least...... I really hated it.... it's nothing compared to other titles like Tsubasa or CCS...
