Just as the title says: Wii will win the console war by the end of the year,
says Japan.

Casts Massive Wii Vote
Just a short article with some stats, news highlights, and the most anticipated
games.
So it's pretty obvious Wii is making a large impact on the gaming world, just
look at E3 for example. I'm sure you've seen the coverage and comparisons.
I was also surprised the poll here had PS3 in the lead... that's hardly the case
on other forums and sites I visit.
The Wii is quite possibly the console with the absolute most potential; as I've
said before, I'm figuring that PS3 is gonna own for the first while, after the
Wii's been out for a year or so their sales are gonna increase after people have
learned how to utilize the motion control, and whenever Halo 3 comes out the 360
is gonna have a spike. At the end of the track, however, I believe it will be
incredibly close between the Wii and the PS3.
PS3 = Sleek, powerful, owner of the FF series, and full of gadgets and
gizmos.
Wii = Half the price of the PS3, extensive backward compatibility, and the
unfreakinbelievable Wiimote.
A very close race, however I'm gonna vote for the underdog. Go, Wii~~
I think the wii actually will win.
The wii is half of the price of the ps3 and well in average peoples budgets, its
nothing most gamers have interacted with. I belive most gamers(myself included)
will want the wiis new gaming experence over ths PS3s godly graphics. I will
want a ps3 later to play FF13 and MGS4, But i am sure i will have the most fun
with the wii. Only time will tell.
I think I've officially reached the point where the complexity of the
predictions I've formulated for which console will win has become so high that
not even I can understand them anymore.
The three consoles are so different that comparing them is a task better left
not done, and just wait until a few monts after launch and looking at things in
retrospect.
Before E3 it was all PS3, despite the mound of Wii hype, post E3 it was all Wii
and PS3 slumped, not PS3 news seems to finally be picking up again, despite the
mound of Wii hype, but possbily just to have their thunder stolen by an early
Wii launch, which could either be a huge sucess or a flop and...
You get my point, as it stands nobody really knows how things will end.
Quote by NerdloremasterOn top of
the system cost, games are $80 each, and Sony is trying to ban the reselling of
games (although that probably won't work).
Are you serious? What do you mean though? Is it the reselling of old titles by
their producers or the reselling of games no longer produced? I think i need to
clarify this for myself later...
Anyhow, the Wii is no match for the PS3 even if the console costs less. It's the
type of games, ie. the game titles that counts! Sony has a larger collection of
favourite titles so there is no way they are going to lose to Nintendo. I was a
Nintendo convert afterall. After playing the first few 'famous' games (eg.
FFVII) on PlayStation, i have given up on the Nintendo (although not
entirely)... Now i am an official PlayStation fan, so go PS3!
Reselling at all, when a game is sold second hand Sony makes no profit from
that, so they'd prefer it to be blocked.
The fact that sony currently has a lot of 3rd party support doesn't mean much if
the PS3's high development costs and the potentially low installed userbase
cause all the developers to jump ship.
i think wii will really be much better than ps3. ps3 games and the console it
self is so expensive. the wii is nice a cheap. the wii also has a interesting
concept where you can also move the controller where in the ps3 u just press
buttons again. the wii has a completely new concept while the ps3 is sticking
with the same thing as all the older consoles.
I'm interested to see how often the tilt controls get used in PS3 games, Sony
instists 'eventually, all the time' (paraphrased), but considering many games
are also going to be on 360, I don't see it being extensively used.
I mean its functionality is limited compared to the Wii controller, and look how
many Gameboy games used tilt and you get an idea for how often that almost
ancient technology was actually used, why use it more now?
Wii at least puts it all in one hand as well as 3D moion tracking to make it
considerably more useful.

Wow, I never heard that before. The Wii looks ok, but it does not look better then the PS3!
wii rox, but i dun think it can beat the ps3
Wii may win in Japan, but we will see how it does in America. The ability to play old games may make it a winner here as well.
