well, I'm on the university now, studying for accounting and I think university is a easier way to achive something, but, of course, if your future lies somewhere else, then go ahead.
for an example, I'm in accounting, but if you just look at my artworks and doujinshi, you'll realize I should be in arts.
We can always do a lot of diferent things. University it's just a pass. believe me...Take my advise, folow your heart.

No university isn't the only way to the future, but the papers sure help alot later on when you want to get a job. My suggestion is that you identify what you like and then try to find a course at uni that is related to your interest so that you will be giving a 110% to achieving that degree. If you are thinking about starting your own business, I would still suggest that you go to university to get that degree and then work in a multinational company so that you will gain valuable experience and contacts which will help your business later.
To me I think that university is important because I'll be able to meet people from other countries and learn about their culture. At the same time, the university will train you for the working world as the working world is not an easy one to live in. Besides, university teaches you valuable knowledge which will help you to achieve your dream career or to do something which you really have a passion for.
Just my 2 cents.- Jun 04, 2006

These days without a University education your job prospects are seriously limited. However I find that there isn't a University course that caters to me needs, so I did the nearest thing, where what I'd like to do is be self-taught and only learn what I need to know for my future job.

Most of what you study in university will never be used in workplaces. Often you actually have to learn a lot of new stuff when you start a new job. University is only there to help you gain the mental strength and base knowledge required in the workforce. Oh, and having a degree on your resume certainly makes you a more attractive candidate next to someone who doesn't.

well. there are ceratinly other options. but a university
sure helps.
I, myeslef, will be studying abroad in England for my
university.
but if you're asking if you should go--
my opinion, yes. Because it does make things easier,
but again, it's up to you/- Currently watching: Mahou Senshi Louie, Kimi ni Todoke, Skip Beat!

I think college is just one of those things people should experience once in their lives. It's great to have the degree, but the experience is none other.

No, studying in a univeristy is not the only way. For some people, school really isn't for them and they take a different path. It depends on what you want to do in the future.
Yes, having a degree will certainly increase you chances for getting a job with a high salary, but is that what you want? I say, do whatever makes you happy, follow a path that you want.

Depends what you have planned for the future. If you have trouble making up your mind what you want to do, take a year off from school/university and work instead to think about it. For some professions you need to go to University or a specialised training school, and for other places you don't. The actual experience of going to a University however is invaluble.

I am currently avoiding exam preparartion.
Going to Uni isn't the only choice available, ít's just that nowadays, it's a big help in getting a job.
But do you really wanna waste so and so years doing something (and creating debt) that you don't want to? If you do go, make sure you want to, and know where you're going to go with it ... or have a vague perception lol.(I REALLY don't want to study...)

It all depends on how you feel about universities. If you feel like you don't like any of the jobs that you can get from a university then do not go for it. If you feel like you have the ability to persevere through college education and do soemthing in there that you like, just go for it. It all depends on how you feel about college. I think that i could do somethng but i know some other close friends who dont' want to go into a university and i respect them. It's your own thing, and you gotta do what you gotta do :D

If you do not plan on starting your own business venture, and would rather be a employee, then I think you should get a degree, as it would help a lot with your job prospect. Otherwise, you would be frustrated when some newbie gets promoted instead of you just because he/she had a degree.

Like what most said, it's the experience being in a college/university that's invaluable, not the degree itself. You certainly WILL start off with a better foot than someone who DOESN'T have a degree. However, you both might lose out to someone who's had working experience.
That said, you might want to consider working in different fields while on sem break to see what you're really interested in.

You can have SO many different ways. Just that what you want to do depends IF you NEED to go to university or not. It just makes it easier so you have a degree to show.

It depends on what you wanna be. Yeah university is important to most people but to artists and stuff it's really not necessary IMO. You make the choice depending on your goal:)
