wel.... i made a wallpaper called autumn... n i got like 10-15 fav from it...
wel later it was deleted because they thought it was 2 simple... but it may look
simple but it took quiet som effort... wht do u guys think...? somtimes simple
is better...
Sometimes I don't understand. I've seen several wallpapers here that are just
resized and cleaned up scans. I haven't seen the original scan for this, but
from what you're saying it seems you took the time to create a background and
such that looks quite nice.
*is overwhelmed from the huge jpeg on the thread* people should provide links
!
Anyway, thoughts on this work:
The colours are done quite well on this, but the problem is the scan and how it
goes with the background. It is nice and simple, but it's a little too empty. If
you notice the really simple wallpapers in the gallery (like the exceptionally
done well ones) they usually feature a high quality vector (all the work goes
into the vector) so the background sometimes doesn't matter as much (depends on
the composition).
The scan here doesn't really look extracted. It probably was, but the edges are
faded so it's no longer high quality. What's more, the autumn leaf brush is a
default brush from Photoshop... there are so many more possibilities! A tree on
the right with a sloping hill at the back with a cute little house and a sky
with some grass around the place is another simple solution that would work well
with this scan.
This is a rather nice wallpaper, and I can sort of understand why it was
deleted: but you only need a little bit
of modification for this to return to the gallery Rest
assured! Methinks it was deleted more because it seemed more 'incomplete' than
flawing in many technical factors. Kudos!
ok... the faded edges were done by me... i did tht 2 blend the image into the
the bg more... 2 create a more flowin wallpaper... n the leaves r minimal... the
wallpaper... was made by smudging the OG pic the the pic was blended... n i used
did gradient maps 2 creat shadin.. n thers also a glowing effect around the
character... this wallpaper was made wit lots of layers... the wallpaper was
created usin a tech i use often 4 my sigs... n i jst think a tree on the right
would mess up the smooth flow of the wallpaper... but thx 4 the comments...
sometimes I don't get it too I guess, but as a fellow GFXer, let me also remind
you that sigwork does not the same works for wallpapers. There is a world of
difference.
Kuroimisa may have pointed out something about brushes, but I personally do not
see "possibilities of adding a something-something to an empty BG" as
a reason for deletion. Since that is not a reason.
I would personally suggest you take this to the complain thread and ask
again.
I personally believe the gradient, the smudge was actually kinda good, in fact,
blending was kinda very nice as well.
Likewise, I would assume it was cause of the background, but the background has
this simple and rich feeling to it, perhaps a few bits more creativity would add
bonuses and such to the wallpaper.
Just so you know, again, Sigs does not work the same as wallpapers.
I really think it's a beautiful wall... THough I can only see half of it because
my screen isn't stretching to see the rest and I can't see the empty area
everyone is talking about... but yeah... I personally love simple wallpapers and
making simple wallpapers and I think half the time, my simple walls are only
saved by the fact that I made my own vector in them. I think mt is too hard on
simple wallpapers
Sure something can take a short amount of time, but hey! There's something
called "simplistic" and another thing called
"inspiration".
I personally see absolutely nothing wrong with this wall... you obviously have
several layers of leaf brushings for the BG and frankly I have no idea how I
could do the same sort of BG and I'm very impressed.

People 'personally' may not feel that, but the Minitokyo policy does. The
Minitokyo policy implies it in the low-effort section since it means that little
or less thought has been put in the remainder of the wallpaper.
And do not try to fade edges of a scan into a wallpaper unless the background
itself is white, misty or cloudy. And even so you'd use layers over the scan
instead of blending the scan into the background.
awel... i guess the blendin didnt work 2 my advantage... n thers only 1 layer
wit the leaf brush... the rest is dif layers of smudging... i jst used a the
leaf brush 2 smudge.. so u get a similar effect.... it looks like u have dif
layer of leaves... but its not jst a simple brush.... wel... thx 4 the comments
so far...
hmm, I really like the colours you've used. it fits well with the scan. the
gradient and leaves are well-done as well. I don't think you really need
anything on the right, but I think you could make the girl much bigger so that
she's more prominent on the wallpaper. there's this huge strip of space above
her head where not much is going on, except the gradient. this can be solved by
making the girl bigger (or cropping out the background). I like the leaf brushes
that you'ved used, but I'm not fond of those two leaves about the lettering.
they look like they've been blurred somehow, and don't fit with the sharpness of
everything else.
I'm not sure if it's the jpeg ('cause it tends to pixelate reds and oranges),
but the space around the words (esp "Autumn") look pixelated.
anyway, I really like the idea of it, and what you've got so far. tune it up a
bit and it'll look even better
Great use of colours and it blends quite nicely
~*neat pattern used....it gives the feeling of a pile of leaves as a
background
The writing should be done in a different colour so that it stands out more and
is less hard to read.
~*Nice detail in the leaves of the background although it would be great if the
leaf prints stood out more.
~*As you learn more creative ways to improve your wallie, you could add more
effective background techniques to enhace the wallie.
~*Great work and keep it up!
i think this is a very pretty wallpaper! the only problem is that the scan
doesnt look extracted...like kuroimisa said. The red hues and yellows are very
very nice! maybe too much brushes - that might be a reason why it got deleted
also. Does anybody ever read the reason why they got their wallie deleted? it
really helps to read that message you know.
i keep repeatin my self... i only used 1 simple layer of the leaf brush the rest
is smudging... designed 2 look like the leaves r in a pile... wel... thx 4 the
comments... i see tht som people feel tht i need 2 get better n it is true...
esp the text...

Personaly, I dont see why it did. I really like it and I would've put it in my favorites, sometimes Simple is best.
