well now days i didnt see any new anime tat can match up with the popularity of one piece, naruto and bleach.

why leh?

any one knows?

or may be just me who is very low at the development of anime world?

Actually, I saw many different titles that surpass these. Although I have to admit: they are relatively a short seasoned animes (24-26 eps). Long running animes have a good kickoff, although sometime after that, they started to get full of fillers because they've catched up to the latest story arc.

That is not the case for the short series. These series rarely contains fillers and have a very nice storyline and character development. Long running animes tend to drag along the development of everything, but short ones are straight to the point. Yes, I admit that they missed some details sometimes but, most of the times it's not very crucial.

As for why there's no long running animes coming out lately, it's because long running animes require a lot of resources and a huge dedicated efforts on the part of the creators, staff and the companies who are working on it. I think the higher-ups that decides which titles should be made into an anime just have not yet found the right ones to make it into a long running anime that going to be as popular and as badass as one piece, naruto and bleach. Give the Japaneses sometime! I'm sure they'll come up with something these next few years.

Peace out! 8)

Count the number of series with more than 4 seasons (or more than 100 episodes). There really aren't a whole lot as compared to the total number of series available.

What that really says is that that kind of series isn't partictularly common as they do require more time to produce (although the average episode is produced quicker than for a shorter series) and because they are so long it is a bit unreasonable to sell them at the standard price for a 4 episode DVD, making them less profitable (especially when most people watch these serie on TV rather than buy them) unless they become mainstream enough to profit on the merchandising of it.

There you go, I agree with TSPhoneix there... That's what the companies are thinking before they make a decision. Basically, it all comes down to money.

I remembered things happened on long running animes that suddenly has a bad rating: They cut it out and leave it there. Sometimes it ends at a nice place in the storyline, sometimes don't. Rave is an example of the ones that got cut in a very rough way. I hate it when they do that, and all of the other people also don't like it.

So nowadays, before a company decides to that a series worth the effort and money to be made into a long running anime, they always see if they can make a steady profit out of it through. This is to prevent a cut out or alternate ending.
