It seems like there hasn't really been much enthusiasm for the contests as we'd all like... Is there anything we can do to change this? What would be a good incentive to get more people to participate in the group contests?

UltraMarine came up with a pretty good idea of members creating their own dialogue or captions for their favorite scenes/popular images from Mai HiME and/or Mai Otome. What are your thoughts on that?

I'ddo wallpaper or doujinshi although I'd prefer the latter. As far as incentive, the only idea I have is if you know a really good artist that would maybe do a my-hime related request for the winner.

I personally have no artistic skills, which is why I don't participate in contests. Fanfiction sounds nice, but I think it'll take alot of time (time that I might not be able to give), take just as long to judge, and not be particularly popular either. Not many people really enjoy writing stories.

For something that will make people join, I think you need a relatively small contest, as in everyone needs to just hand in something really small. Wallpapers take time (and skill) as do doujinshi, and fanfiction also takes time. I personally can't think of anything that is small but worth contesting, but it seems logical to me that something that doesn't take too much time would be readily participated in by the community.

It's the same as Kyokujitsu, i'm not very good at making wallpapers or drawings, so i don't enter these contests.

I agree that a contest would be something that doesn't take alot of time. Not everyone has alot of free time or not a pro in drawing and advance usage of photoshop or whatever similar prgrams. Fanfiction is a possbility. Perhaps create little drabbles or short one-shot stories.
Here's an idea that popped into my mind when I was admiring the new images in our group. How about coming up with a caption for the chibi Midori and Mai picture? It looks like its in need for some dialogue. Or perhaps paticipants can pick whatever Hime/Otome picture such as screencaps or official images to submit with a caption they come up with. Or an admin can select a pic(s) for participants to come up with a caption?
