"At the CESA Developers Conference Hirokazu Hamamura, president of
Enterbrain (publisher of Famitsu) talked about the price range of upcoming PS3
software. Much like Xbox and Xbox 360, he sees a significant price increase
between PS2 and PS3. Hamamura-san forsees the cheapest PS3 software being at
least $70 USD (EUR 57 / YEN 7,800) while the most expensive would be around $79
USD (EUR 65 / YEN 8,800)."
yeah waaaay too much money...I'm not gonna buy a PS3 anyways..it's way too much
It is crazy, but chances are they will do it, and some people will still buy
them.
That said where I live the 360 games are seeing price drops in almost every
store simply because nobody was buying them at their ridictulously high prices.
Sony said it'd range from 60 to 100 US$, but I doubt they'll ever go higher than
70$.
games usually cost me more than 100$ in my country(with taxes and importation
costs), but there's only a couple games worth much more than that(MGS and FF).
You people in america complain about prices but in other countries they have to
pay much more.
What is wrong with you!
IMO, it is worth it ($69) for a game.
Well money dosn't grow on trees. Not everyone can easily spend so much money. If
WII is 250 $ and Wii games are said to cost 50 $, so if you just buy a the
cheaper PS3 with a game, you could have bough Wii with 4 games.
See in the USA : "The current federal minimum wage is now $5.15 an
hour."
Well I am in a remote place and sure the price of PS3 will hurt... even if it's
true that part of the people here will buy it... when they visit the USA.
Well, from what I looked up, ps3 games will start out at $60, just like the 360,
but the price will rise in the future up to $75 each! That's madness!(still
gonna get a ps3 though!)
Quote by TessaLover12No the price of
all next gen console games (I don't know about the Wii) will be
$60.
Nintendo's stuff will only be $50 and they are encouraging 3rd parties to
follow. It seems so far that EA actually plans to follow the $50 guideline as
well.
You know...which such high prices I wonder if they are going to do well with the
sales....I don't want to save money to buy something which is not going to work
due to its costs O_o...

I rarely buy full price games as it is, lately I've been stocking up on AU$10
GBA games which is really cheap and for good games too.
It is just insane to swallow the ps3 price tag. That alone will rob me of the
money I could be using to buy the games. No wonder analyst believe that the ps3
will not do so well in the next-generation console race.
i Heard that they'll run anywhere from 70 to 100 dollars. sony has my sympathy
for this stupid move. but maybe this will teach sony a lesson about making
things regular people can't afford.
Ps3 is bound to have greatest hits after nine monthsof release that are probably
very cheap. and if u really need to u can always mod ure ps3 and buy pirated
games, although i wouldn't sinice the mod chip or the games could ruin the ps3.
pirated games might cost more than they r now for ps2 because ps3 uses bluray
discs and the burner alone is very costly.

Writable Blu-Ray discs aren't going to be cheap and the writer costs over $1000
as well, so that isn't really any cheaper, not to mention the games will be huge
making them take forever to download meaning that buying it will probably just
be easier.
Also I don't think that PS3 games will go platinum as quickly as PS2 games did
because of the price, what I mean is if only few people get PS3 at launch, then
there won't be enough people buying games to make the game go platinum.
I heard that the price of ps3 games will be $69+.... is there any validity to that?
Ok, that is crazy. A system that is 600$ and games that high! No way I will get it now.

is $69+ the price of the cd or the price of the ps3 ?
is it in us dollar or ...pound ?
$69+ is the price of the ps3 game. the system is $500-600
$69 dollars is nothing!

The console will cost around R6000, and a game will probably be R800 - R900
Im not complaining, coz I know what the ps3 is capable of and it is worth it.
so ....in my country ...the price of the ps3 will be ....... (ave.)$550*6(in pounds) or $550*3.6(in dollar ) ....
the price will either be 3k or 2.5k .....oh ...wat a *cheap* price ....-.-lll

Console weight: Wii+Xbox360 = PS3

Heh. Guess I'll be stuffin' a Wii under my TV after all. I'll wait til I can get PS3 and its games used...
