Well thats the basic question tonight who is kinder and why. I came up with the idea of this thread after reading a book, Notes for a Memoir. It had a few quotes in it from a favorite author of mine, Issac Asimov. Here is the quote

" After all, the devil is a nice guy . When you think of how few people have killed and destryoed in the name of the devil; and how many have done so in the name of God; it makes you think."

Issac Asimov by no means was religous and by no means belived in the devil, this was just a statament of his, He infact was an Athiest.

But who do you think is kinder the Devil or God ? Because when you think about it, the Devil has never been the cause for war it's been in the name of God.

So what do you think about this, who do you think is kinder, the Devil or
God? And what of Mr. Asimov?

* I suggest before anyone comments negativly on Mr. Asimov they look up a profile of his then make a comment. I will say he wrote over 470 Books, Novels, and Short Stories. He also wrote a guide to the Bible, and the guide to Shakespere.

They both are. As a matter of fact, this situation is very similar to your parents. You love your mom and dad, but you can't choose one over another, and if you do, you know there is bound to be consequences and sacrifices to take (either God or the Devil).

You both have this all wrong. Most of the people who did something in the name of God were not actually being influenced by God, but by the Devil pretending to be God. That's what he is; the opposite of God. Because the Devil cannot create the things that he has he mimics the things God has created, for example God made love, but the Devil can't understand love so his equivilant to that is lust. The people who have done something in the name of God and were actually doing something God would have wanted are the people who did something without major bloodshed, like Martin Luther King Jr., and Martin Luther. God doesn't want wars, the Devil does. The Devil thinks that he is God and because of his arrogance was cast out of heaven; he created evil, God has nothing to do with that. Take the 9/11 incident in the US; most people are asking why God would do such a thing or where was God when it happened. I'll answer those questions; God DID NOT cause 9/11, the Devil did, working through the terrorists who hijacked that plane. Secondly God WAS there at 9/11; he was helping people escape, people to be found, taking those who were unfortunate enough to die to Heaven, and he was working through the hands of the thousands of surgeons who had to opperate on the people who were found there.

If you actually knew what you were talking about then you would know that there was no need to ask this question. The Devil is the person who causes all things to go wrong in the world, not God. We have disease and pain and bloodsucking insects and heartbreak because of the Devil; God is the opposite, he is the one who heals us, mentally and physically, the one who tries to guide us to a better future. The Devil is the one trying to sabatouge it all, the one who lies to us and tries to hurt us.

The answer is simple and the only one; God is ultimately better than the Devil in EVERY WAY.

Infact i don't belive in either, i'm an athiest. So i don't belive either is kinder.

I've just started reading the Bible (finished Genesis, to be exact), so I don't know just yet (in fact, the Devil hasn't even been mentioned yet).

But there's one thing I can say with certainty even now: God most definitely is not "kind". He's just a favoritist..there's no reason why Abraham's line should be what they are. He's also very impulsive. I can't see why he has so many fans.

I'd say the devil.
You have to follow about no rules at all to end up in hell (prentending there is such a thing) but in order to get to heaven you have to be a good person and whatnot.

Though your soul will be tortured for eternity when you end up in hell ^_^"

Yes "mintytwinblademaiden" is certainly correct on everything. God indeed is the kinder one, the devil isn't because he is the one that causes every person to commit bad deeds. Just think for a moment. Who do you think gives you another day more to live and enjoy life? Yes, it's God. If it weren't for him the many things we enjoy today would not be possible, such as Anime. So it is not about if we do or don't believe God exists, because he really does exist and he indeed loves everyone.

i think good or bad depends on our own way of thinking, and not by god or the devil itself.

commonly people might say the answer of god, but god sometimes spoiled humans too much while devil have a great role in temptating, making chaos so humans may learn to defend their believes n life

I think the devil is kinder because few people kill in the Devil's name and because God keeps "testing" humans. Diseases, Wars, Famine, etc... God could prevent all that in the blink of an eye. But nothing changes, humans are constantly being "tested".

Didn't God make all the angels in heaven? So didn't God make Lucifer? Didn't god know all the bad stuff Lucifer would have done?

Quote by Shinsengumi89 But who do you think is kinder the Devil or God ? Because when you think about it, the Devil has never been the cause for war it's been in the name of God.

People always blame God because of the wars... those who claim they are christians uses the name of God for their wick motives...

As a true Christian, I'll defend the name of God for those wrong accusations... >_>

It was in 1914 that total warfare first invaded the world scene. The entire resources of nations, including their manpower, were committed to warfare. Many of the Bible Students, as Jehovah's Witnesses were called at that time, made commendable efforts to avoid bloodguilt. They were bitterly persecuted, just as Jesus said they would be. (John 15:17-20)

When global conflict again erupted in 1939, Jehovah provided clear guidance for his servants. Within two months of the declaration of war, this guidance came in the form of Bible study material entitled "Neutrality" in the November 1, 1939, issue of The Watchtower. It concluded with the sentence: "All who are on the Lord's side will be neutral as to warring nations, and will be entirely and wholly for the great THEOCRAT and his King."

What resulted? As a worldwide brotherhood, Jehovah's Witnesses consistently refrained from shedding the blood of innocent people, including their brothers in other lands. While Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, and others were slaughtering one another, Jesus' true disciples were obeying his new commandment: "Just as I have loved you, . . . you also love one another." (John 13:34)

Religious organizations have reddened the pages of history by spilling innocent blood in crusades, "holy" wars, and inquisitions. They have made concordats with bloodthirsty dictators. They consented when those dictators threw Jehovah's Witnesses into prisons and concentration camps, where many of them died. :( They gave willing support to fuhrers (leaders) who executed Witnesses by shooting and beheading. :( These religious systems cannot escape Jehovah's righteous judgment. It will not delay. Nor should any lover of righteousness delay in getting out of false religion--bloodstained "Babylon the Great"--and seeking refuge in God's organization. (Revelation 18:2, 4, 21, 24)

So in each country the churches led their members into the war. Catholics slaughtered Catholics on the battlefields. Protestants killed Protestants. And church leaders on both sides prayed to God for victory! -_-

"The children of God and the children of the Devil are evident by this fact: Everyone who does not carry on righteousness does not originate with God, neither does he who does not love his brother. For this is the message which you have heard from [the] beginning, that we should have love for one another; not like Cain, who originated with the wicked one and slaughtered his brother."--1 John 3:10-12

How dishonoring to God it was to link his name with such horrible deeds! Certainly the Bible words are well applied to the churches...

"They publicly declare they know God, but they disown him by their works, because they are detestable and disobedient and not approved for good work of any sort."--Titus 1:16.

On the UN plaza wall in New York, U.S.A., you may read the following words based on Isaiah 2:4 (King James Version): "They shall beat their swords into plowshares. And their spears into pruning hooks: Nation shall not lift up sword against nation. Neither shall they learn war any more." But who acts in harmony with those words today? Not one of the members of the so-called United Nations. It is only the peace-pursuing global "nation" of six million and more Jehovah's Witnesses that has clearly demonstrated how Christian neutrality can be maintained in a bloodstained world.........

True worshippers of God avoid killings in war... we always remain neutral unlike those who claims they are christians...

Oh i'm not accusing God of being bad or good, i'm just asking a question. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

The reason why so much harm is done in the name of God is because everyone thinks that God is on their side. The Lebanese think that God is on their side and Israel thinks likewise. So who really represents God?

Not many people, on the other hand, would willingly follow the devil. It makes you wonder if the devil really has such a small following. What is there to fear from such a failure of a devil if he is really capable of attracting only a few followers?

My answer is that the devil often deceives the people following him into thinking that they follow God. The devil is the opposite of the God of truth, and is a liar and deceiver.

"For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." - 2Corinthians 11:13-14

I say the devil... god has never helped me i really dont like either of them... I am Wiccan and I worship the Dragon Lord..

well the devil i guess, since i dont want to live in a world where everything is perfect i mean youll get bored easily

Look toward the world today and witness the poverty, the suffering, the futility, the hopelessness, the unanswered prayers for mercy. A whole new world is it not? One where death is a blessing. Look toward our past and witness the genocides, the massacres, the tyrants, and one would not know the difference of past and present. All of these things exist both in past and present.

Forget not the Holocaust, where six million faithful Jews died, all praying for deliverence, and answered with torture and death. Forget not the stories of the Bible, in which God is portrayed as a supporter of slavery and sexism; a mastermind of massacres of men and women, young and old; an onlooker to the cruely humanity evokes unto its own, silent and indifferent.

Now speak of this devil, who is said to influence atrocities, who is said to be a sadist. He is blamed for the Holocaust, he is blame for murder, for crimes, both petty and unspeakable. This devil is supposedly a horrid beast, however, I would not be surprised if the devil and god were, in truth, one. The devil is evil through his actions, however, god is evil through both action, and inaction.

Though, there is no proof that either exists, save an ancient text written by primative people. Perhaps 'god' and 'devil' are merely symbols, representing two sides of a supreme being. If I were forced to choose to say which was kinder, the devil, for he is only evil in one way, god is evil in two.

Lets see, God: make one mistake, and he will send you to eternal punishment.
God: Repent, he will grant you eternal happiness
God: Live accordianly to his rule, he will give you what he thinks you desearve.
Devil: make one mistake, and he'll punish you as best as he can, but not as bad as god.
Devil: Repent, he will reward you for a little while (but not as good as god)
Devil: Live accordianly to his rule, he will give you everything and take it all away in the end.
Hard decision, the devil can't harm/help you as good as God. But i would have to think the devil because its better to have and lost then to never have at all.

The devil. He wants to take down as many humans with him when God destroys him as he can. You can't get much more evil than that.

You rock. I agree 110%.

Both are kind to their loyal servants. Answered?

You imply that Anime was created by Christians. (haha).

i dont thank god is a god if there is a good i dont like him

and the i Devil is god

It's a conspiracy... God is the Devil... one in the same, an actor and his puppet dancing to the tune of the stagehand. ^__^

I think that God is the evil one, not Satan/Lucifer. Think about it. It wasent Satan who plagued Egypt with Bloody water, famine, locusts, frogs, and Death that killed little kids. It wasent Satan who flooded the world and left it in the hope of two old people, an ark, and two of every animal. lol. And like comments left earlier God didnt answer the prayers of the Jewish people during the Holocaust. He only left them to suffer and die. Thats really sad. And the whole bit were he calls himself "God" just means he is self-righteous. There were thousands of other gods throughout the ages with proper names.
