all rite...here's the wallpaper:
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l211/praylood808/hijikata.jpg

i tried adding a moon for a light source, but the wallpaper ended up looking really cluttered, so i left it out. any suggestions on making this background better would be much appreciated.

here was my first idea for a background:
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l211/praylood808/shoji.jpg

i was trying to go for something simple, but i couldn't really get the blood spatters to blend correctly on the shoji...any help regarding how to "layer" things over would be nice ^^"

not sure which bg works better or if i should just try something else...anyway, constructive comments are welcome...

Well, first off I think I like the first wallpaper posted a bit better because the context of the scan fits a little betterwith the background you have provided.

A few hints on how to improve it:

- I like the i dea of your black and white and red colour selection. But the white outline on the scan must go. Firstlty because I suspect you have no extraction problems and secondly because it displaces the character from the actual background, eliminating any effort to integrate the foreground and background- and this is something you want to avoid.
- The petals are a nice addition but you'll need to change the darkness and lightness of some particular petals, perhaps scatter the a bit more, change the transparency of some, and put them on different layers (behind the wall for example) in order to create a bit more depth into this :)

Last thing to keep in mind is the lighting. The sky is relatively dark and cloud whereas the character remains quite bright. You might wanwt to consider darkening partso f the character (mostly torso) in order for the lighting to work a bit better.

Other than that great work! Keep on updating and hope to see more :D
