I'm pretty sure you've heard of the live action movie that's set to come out on July 4, 2007. For those of you who don't, it's being directed by Michael Bay and co-produced by Steven Spielberg. It also stars Shia Labeouf, Bernic Mac, and Jon Voight as some of the human cast. There are only ten Transformers listed so far with maybe more coming. They are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ratchet, Ironhide for the Autobots and Megaton, Starscream, Devastator, Brawl, and Soundwave for the Decepticon. However only Optimus Prime and Starscream are listed to appear as their cartoon transformations of a semi truck and jetfighter. Everyone else gets a modern upgrade meaning Bumblebee, from what i read, is not going to appear as a VW bug. And of course, Megaton won't be a handgun but a Cyberton jet of some kind while Devastator is not composed of six Constructicons but instead a single transformer. But i'm not sure how accurate my information is so things may change.

I've watched the trailer and the closest thing i see to a transformer is its shadow in the last 10 to 15 seconds. I'm kinda looking forward to seeing more of it but at the same time, i feel that i'll probably be disappointed.

there is a picture of bumblebee and they have released the transformers who will appear also if you youtube it you could find what may or may not be a test for a transformer transformation so yea, also i dont know if it will be a failure because we havent seen much about it

Well It looks like someone beat me to the punch on making a thread on the Transformers movie. Anyway I saw the trailer for the movie and it looks good so far but I worry on how it will be adapted since Michael Bay is directing it and its not being totally adapted from the classic cartoon. I think that it may disapoint a lot of fans or attrack a new set of fans but we going to have to wait for the movie to come out to be sure.

Aha! They've come out with a NEW preview that shows actors and transformations. Gotta say, this movie's gonna ROCK. I can't wait for it to come out.

Sorry, i haven't updated this post since i started. It didn't seem to have any interest to anyone here at the time. Maybe with the release date approaching and trailers out, this discussion might make a revival.

THe trailer was awesome but think that the transformer fan might not like 3D computer gen. Also I have a felling that in the movie that there not going have the orginal voices and are going to have generated voices.

Although I love the Transformers, I think this movie will be very disappointing. Michael Bay's movie resume has some very terrible movies, most notably Pearl Harbour (or Harbor, depending on where you're from). So I have a bad feeling about this movie, but I hope I'm proven wrong.

I reckon the movie's gonna be a success, well in terms of profit since the movie's gonna attract older and younger audiences, which is pretty smart, considering the older audiences like me grew up with transformers during the 90s and for kids who just like big robots :P

And I reckon the movie can't be that bad since as jerry79 said that it's gonna be "co-produced by Steven Spielberg".

But then I agree with some of you guys, guess we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

I hope there's a lot of transforming, becuase if there isn't, it's going to suck.

Wow, thread's coming alive a little. Anyways, if some of you didn't know, they have the original voice of Optimus Prime from the 80's cartoon voice the movie's Prime and else one else get a new voice. All the Autobots are GM manufactured cars supposely. I grew up during the 80's with Transformers, Voltron, and Robotech so i'm a bit unsure of what to make of the movie. Seems alrite except for their transformation into robots. As someone else had mentioned on a website, they resemble Lego's Bionicle. I personally would perfer that they still retained reconizable parts from their disguises in their robot form like with Hasbro's Transformers Alternator toy line. It's kinda hard to tell what goes where in the movie versions. Anyways, help keep this thread alive by stating your opinions, good or bad.

Heck yes! I've been waiting for this movie every since I saw the first trailer, the one with the mars thing that you just see a transformer's shadow... and if you ask me, from what I've seen of the transforming I think they did it really well... like the Helicopter, who's name escapes me, holy crap that's so cool when he transforms in the newer trailer... I can not wait... nope... can't wait... If it sucks... or not... I won't care... from what i've seen the Tansformers themselves are going to be frickin amazing... and as long as they are it'll be good enough for me.

Yep. I've just seen Transformers and i'm not too impressed but i went in not expecting much to begin with. It's an alrite film but i wouldn't say it's over the top good. Let's see what you all think for those of you who've seen it or might go see it. Me, personally, i prefer the cartoons no matter how old they may be. Why did they have to kill off one of my favorite characters? I won't say who though.
