Have you ever watched an anime and have the emotions and events of the show stay in your head and you can't get them out?
I have watched a lot of anime series and a lot of times this happens to me. This weekend I finished watching Chrono Crusade. I can't let go of the ending. It was so sad and just thinking about it makes me want to cry. I know that it is just a show and it isn't real. But the emotions portrayed in the art of the anime are and I can't help but let them affect me in this way.
I love anime because it makes me feel! Feel things that I never would in my everyday life. Not that feeling sadness is a good thing. But sometimes it is. I love how it makes me feel happy and how it makes me laugh too.
What do you think MT?

Bro you are not the only person to feel that way when watching an anime. I too feel the exact same way as you after watching an anime. The one anime that really got to me was Full Moon Wo Sagashite.

Eveything about it affected me. From the in depth emotional storyline to the music. The anime itself was so powerful, especially the ending. I got so attact to the main character. I fell in love with her. After when the anime was over. All the emotions from the anime got to me, and it still does to this date. Last time i watch it was nearly 2 years ago. Like you said. It is indeed only a show. I also cannot help but feel the emotions.

This is the reason why i love watching animes.

happens to me all the time. After I finished watching Air I felt really emotional for the rest of the day, and I began to realize how lucky I was to have friends and family that I care about and who care about me.

2 endings that really struck my hearts
Elfen Lied- the ending is so sad, makes you wanna cry just thinking about it.
Chobits- Just so wonderful and sad

The one that hit me the hardest was the end of Chrno Crusade but Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien I thought was sad.

Fullmetal Alchemist has always gotten to me. I dunno... it just strikes me as so intense and heartfelt-- and a couple of times, I find myself completely blown away by something that happens, and I have to step back and go, "Whoa, did that really happen?"

Maybe that's just me...

I agree with wald89! Elfen Lied is another anime that still gets me. There were so many emotions in that anime that made it wonderful and sad!
Also Fullmetal Alchemist was an awesome anime. One of my all time favorites. I was sad with the ending but I haven't seen the movie yet so I am hoping that it explains more to the series's ending.

Thanks everyone for sharing! Anyone else?

Whenever i watch the ending of a sad anime, or my fav girl dies, i will think over the events in my head for days, sometimes failing a test in school cause it was so sad and i couldnt do anything but think about it. Sometimes when this happends (this last for days on end) ppl ask me why i look depressed, but i cant tell them the truth cause they'll probably laugh. But these factors are what makes these shows so beautiful.

some examples are Elfen Lied, Kanon, and Air. When 1 of my fav cute girls was murdered by her friend in his house (beat to death by a blunt weapon)i felt so sad, that i didnt talk to anyone or stop thinking about for weeks. I really get into my anime

But i think im one of those guys who will never get a girl friend because im way to attracted to cute anime girls (most girls would prob. find that strange), if i got a girlfriend, she would have to resmeble of the girls fro my fantasies...life sucks at the same time its good.

I think one of the best judges of a series is if it can touch your emotions. I have definitely cried at things that happened during some of them, which my friends have made fun of me for 'crying over a cartoon'. But I think it's amazing when a storyline has the power to do that. It's one of the reasons I wanted to get into animation. Some of my favs for this - Fullmetal Alchemist, Fushigi Yuugi, GS, Inuyasha, and Gungrave.

There are a few series that have done this to me. The major ones were Evangelion, where I spent over a week reading analyses online, Tsukihime, where I got obsessed with Arcueid for several days, and Gundam SEED, where I spent over a week reading fanfics about it.

thats the beauty and art about visual effect, how the visual can perform the story / storyline out so wonderfully...
some top of my mind are kgnm, elfen lied, kannaduki no miko, hoshi no koe(watch it if u havnt...), beyond the cloud(same thing...too lazy to type out the jap name), AIR

Not alone I believe that it was Kimi Ga Nozumo Eien, but also Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny. It would also put on list the series Clamp.

gundam seed/destiny...honey and clover...air...fruits basket...they really make me cry....weird thing is i don't cry at sad movies though

Because we love Anime so much that we cant stop watching it.
Anime is alway in our mind. Anime is like everything to us. We take really seriously on anime. that why we give emotion to anime.

wow, to many to say, evangelion, elfen lied, vandread, man really thought abnout it

Yeah, I've recently been watching Kyou Kara Maou and I just can't get the images and events out of my head.

The one stickin' out the most now is Naruto. The whole thing about Inari and his adoptive father. GATO YOU BASTARD!

o.o Sakura feels the same way. I cryed at Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar's ending. it was so sad ;o; Poor Saga and Sugar. I kept thinking about it for days~

It Happens alot to me :< FullMoon Wo Sagashite, FullMetal Alchemist, and fruits basket are some exampleso.o

For me deep anime emotiions that's Fushigi Yuugi ,Full moon wo sagashite ,Air,Chobits .I actually cried when i Hotohori ,Nuriko died ,it's so feel moved .Although i watched so long but the memories about them is always in my heart
