Did you choose or did you just watch whatever anime that's been aired?

Out of the many animes,it's hard to watch them all.Unfortunately,I don't have any anime friend who can help to recommend me of any good titles. So I have to rely on myself.Anyway,I suppose my way of choosing goes from the characters. From there,I will do 'research' on the plot and finally the cast. That's how I normally do it. :)

i just go and find out info about series, and what other people have said about it online, that or just pick a random show that i think sounds good and just go from there :p

I pick it up because of the story. The writing of the script is the base of everything. The anime can be spoiled in the drawings, the music, etc, but if the story fails, everything falls

I start watching any anime i get and if it interest's me i start watching it till the end.
And even anime that look kinda dodgy i try to watch till the end so that i can form my own opinion after watching it.

I mostly try out series with an interesting drawing style or a cool main character. Yeah, I guess I could say the drawing style is the most important to me.

..::DarkWingedDemon::..

I rent most of my anime from Netflix. They let you rate things you've seen, and reccomend other titles based on your ratings. It seems to work pretty well, considering that I've never hated any anime that I've rented from them.

I check out animenewsnetwork and read the plot summary and if it sounds like something I would like I watch the first episode and then go from there

If I like what I read or hear about it, I give it a chance. Usually, I look for pictures of it, to see how the animation quality is, and, of course, I read the plot and character descriptions.

That's a good question...I like to look at the pictures to see the quality and head over to animenfo to look at the genre.

I compulsively buy box sets based on no criteria to speak of. Thus far I've been lucky and enjoyed everything that I've purchased.

I look first for good art- if it looks reasonably well-drawn, I'll probably watch it. No sense in watching something that has a great story but is generally an eyesore. Then I look for the plot summary. Another thing I look for is popularity on the net, more specifically among bloggers- however, this only applies for the newer shows.

I look at what other person who like my type animes, recommend

I look for the story, characters and art. An excellent story with great characters catches me. Breakthrough art too.

Usually from wallpapers and images. If certain interesting characters apear multiple times then I try to look out for them so that I can identify a title. Of course its easier when the image already has a title on it (like a wall ;)).

AMV are also handy to show characters as well as the quality of the animation.

Otherwise I listen to what people say on for example forums such as these. What do people say about what ttles? I then try to put characters to the title. But once I have a title its easy to do research about it on e.g. Anime News Network.

Then I just ad the title to my wishlist.

There aren't that many anime fans where I\'m from, but I tend to listen to these few. Any titles they recommend are researched and any anime that are passed on are watched and judged.

First I look at the official art of the anime or manga. If I like the images then I save them to my computer and start looking for more pictures and wallpapers. Then i start to look for information about the anime: what the story is about, when it was released, if it\'s popular in different countries, information about the characters. Then if it looks interesting I try to watch any episode on the computer, and if the anime is a manga too and it really catches my attention i start buying the mangas. Or i could watch whatever anime on the tv, if i liked what i saw, i start looking for information about the anime and look for different images.

I go to the anime that are really popular, has a great story line and when the stories are great ^^

just like how I found out my current anime obsession: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi wai~! ^^

i look up the story on animenewsnetwork, and if i find the story interesting, then i watch it.

I look at the reviews first, most often from anidb.info then look at the graphics part if its ok.

But sometimes if the anime is popular then I watch it immediately

I watch whatever. If commercials or the first 5 minutes interest me, typically I will watch the entire series then.

I first look at the art of the anime, then I would watch a musicvideo of it. If it interestes me I will look at the plot, then I would watch it.

Well, I usually perfer to see newer anime. Since I constantly browse anime galleries and image boards, I get to know what's popular. I see the art first, and the character designs, if I like that, it's almost surely I'll see it. Sometimes I'll get a series after hearing about the genre or who's doing it.

I think in my interests, the character designs and art is what I first look at.

I first look for any trailers or images of the anime, see if I like the drawing style. Then I check the reviews on anime news network. If it seems like something I would watch or looks interesting I'll try it out and see if I like it.

I would mostly look out for the storyline as a boring storyline with amazing graphics would still be really boring to watch. The best kind of anime i would look out for is one with an enticing storyline, good graphics and pherhaps a bit of ecchi or a lot of girls going for one guy

I try to watch both the older series and newer ones, but I mostly watch anime after I hear someone say its good or something. A lot of the series im watching are series that I know or heard that are good or have really cute characters or something. Storyline also matters a lot, so I usually look up a plot summary of the series before downloading it. Drawing style also attracts me to some anime like Utawarerumono (the art is AMAZING, even if it uses some CG art).
