What Do You Drive To?

I've just started driving recently, and since, I've found that music and cd's that I've loved (for example Linkin Park, Green Day, Evanesence) are absolute crap to listen to while I'm driving. It's quite strange really.

So what does everyone drive to?

Currently I'm driving to the 'Tsubasa' Sountrack. It's mostly instrumental, with four out of 20 (I think) songs lyrical (two are the opening and ending themes). I actually love the music of Tsubasa, it's so ... apocalptic. There are times it gets rather boring, but overall it good to drive to. Though there are some REALLY apocalyptic parts of the songs and when I have it up loud and pull up next to other cars at the traffic lights I get the strangest looks from other drivers ... heheh XD

And Jay Chou's new album 'Still Fantasy'aint bad either, but I've only put that in once so far.

So, what does everyone drive to?

I listen to miscellaneous things. I got tons of music in my ipod.

Like x-gear; I enjoy a variety of music while I drive, anything from electronica to classic music. I find that I like to sing while I'm in the car as well, so I don't mind listening to my favorite bands.

Currently, in my car I do have a bunch of soundtracks including, Pride and Prejudice, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, .hack//Sign, Tsubasa Chronicle v1, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

For the last month, The Ramones Greatest Hits. Once their music is in your head, it won\'t leave.

I listen to calssical, instrumental, new age, opera...most of the time is SARAH BRIGHTMAN but also, enigma, era, beethoven, mozart...operas like Carmen, maddam butterfly...and so many more...all this kind of music is perfect to drive, cus well in my case, when there's a...I don't know, the slow part of the song, you drive moderate, it calme you down, you know...that's nice

Usually misc but I try not to listen to any thing too slow or i'll fall asleep in the car,

I like faster paced music. Maybe rnb or mixes just to keep me awake. I really dislike driving, its so boring.

Depends on what sort of driving I'm doing...

If it's highway driving (blech)... then either trance or old rock mostly. Trance 'cause it's up-beat and old-rock 'cause I can sing along to keep myself awake. Hilltop Hoods are pretty good for highway driving as well. Trick to that one is to find something that isn't so slow it puts you to sleep, but not so fast you get caught doing warp speed in a 60 zone.

Everyday driving, and nice mountain roads (those really cool twisty ones), my current favorite is Kazzer - Pedal to the Metal or Motorhead - Ace of Spades.

As for Anime OSTs while driving: the eX-Driver Overture, Loosey (Burst Angel opening) or the opening to the Read or Die OVA.

Lol, I must say, it feels awkward to listen to Anime/Asian music on the road, cos ya, Im just of the opinion that Rock and stuff is more suitable. But ya, I sometimes stick in some fav Anime Ed/Ops like for 'Black Cat', 'Blood+', Bleach, Naruto, and so on. Also listen to Asian Kung Fu Generation, and stuff like that.

Any other time, Im listening to Rock/Metal, like Breaking Benjamin, Killswitch Engage, Nonpoint, Thrice etc.

Depends on my mood. Normally it consists of Tool, Dream Theater, The Mars Volta, Porcupine Tree, Sigur Ros, Pink Floyd, and both the Japanese and American soundtracks to Sonic CD. You tend to need these things when you're hauling pizza around to all corners of God's green Earth.

I agree with you on the 'rock and stuff is more suitable', but whenever I put in one of those cd's, it's just so discomforting I have to pull over and change it! For example, I was listening to an old Linkin Park album the other day before I left and wanted to continue listening to it so I grabbed it and against my own advice popped it into the car stereo ... no I didn't enjoy that car ride very much.
Strangely, it's different when it's on the radio; maybe because I'll know it'll end soon.

Maybe it's because of the sound system in the car? Hmm, interesting theory.

Oh, but I've added KAT-TUN's BEST OF KAT-TUN to my two/three cds in the car.

Initial D soundtracks!
They put me in a driving mood!

Shuffle! Original Soundtrack CD is what I'm listening right now when I drive in my car.

yeah, kaza... go go Initial D
except I have a pretty loud system in my car.. I look/sound weird if I stop at a red light and I have japanese pop blaring lol :D
I listen to... the purr of my engine :P
