Most of the servants who participate in the war of the holy grail are mythical characters or legends from their countries, so if you were fighting that war, which mythology character would you like as your servant?

A Pheonix bird! Oh, I always liked it's legend. It ore a Whater/Sky Dragon. Enyway, someting teat might fly :D

I suppose this is Fate/Stay Night? If so, then kykyopj is slightly off lol. It doesn't necessarily have to be a mythological character I think. Some of the heroes were real people as I recall.

So if I had to choose, I would want Minamoto Musashi as an Assassin class Servant ^_^ Supposedly the greatest Japanese warrior to have lived (in legend he was the only person to defeat Kojirou, who is the servant Assassin in the anime), it would be awesome to have him as a guardian ^_^ Not that I'd chain him to a lowly task such as defending myself though, he's far too great for that.

hheheh I want Freya/ Frejya whatever the spalling is heheheheh XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD

i choose SunZi as my caster. His legendary and brilliant strategic mind can win me the holy grail war! Bwahahaha!

Dunno what this is about, but to be honest, i'd love to have a Sphinx as my servant...a pretty face with a lion body is always useful :) oh well.

i chose hera as my caster XD . her beauty will make enemy down XD XD XD XD

bump ?

i'd pick Perseus from Greek Mythology, he slayed Medusa!

hmmm... i ill choose Hitler XD

nah ill want a templar :D

I'd go with Ishtar - Syro-Palestinian goddess of sex and war.

Otherwise I'd go with Gilgamesh (the REAL one, not the Fate/Stay Night version - I was highly offended by his potrayel).

Thor is also cool.

for my servant i would have a Odin as a saber or Vali as a berserker

there are no gods as servants. if you had a god why would you need the Holy Grail ?

Anyway I would go with Morgan Le Fay as Caster. She seems to be the good guy in the FSN world.

Lolx.......I want Kratos to be my servant!

er...i call zeus?
the king of gods
B)
not really....i want...Merlin...or Beleth, king of hell in demonology...or...um...thats all i got right now...

i would get Achilles to be my servant, he is my favorite mythology character

I would love either Beowulf, a Valkyrie, or the spiritual manifestation of Godzilla in human form.

I would love to have Anubis as my servant...hehe, the egypt god of death :P

I'd have to go with Zeus (for the ability to lob lighting bolts at mine enemies) or Ares (being a god of war definitely has its advantages when you are fighting)

I shall choose the mythical sea demon Leviathan as my servant to rule the land and sea. Creating huge tidal waves and send them crashing onto the shores, engulfing anything in the way.

To people chosing monsters or gods, nice try. The Holy Grail's system prevents Gods from being summoned, and legendary monsters don't count as heroic spirits. Heroic Spirits/Eirei are human beings who performed impossible feats and such.

That being said, there tends to be a lack of creativity when it comes to servants people would think of. One idea I have is probably done a thousand times over now, but Longinus as Lancer.

Clearly his motivation for the holy grail would be to find repentance for his action (piercing the rib of the crucified Jesus to see if he was dead.) His weapon itself is a relic and is referenced countless times in media and mythology, and as a Noble Phantasm it'd probably be quite deadly. Due to the blood of Christ on the tip, it would have the capability to kill anything in a single stab.

Perseus would be an interesting servant, he could qualify for quite a few servant classes, too.

I'd choose Saladin, the Arabian warlord who defeated Richard Lionheart's army in the crusade for the holy place - Jerusalem.

He'd be a very wise and cunning servant and would fight more with mind not with strength (if you understand what I am trying to say). He'd be physically strong though.

^ nice choice. He was one the best generals in history ;)

Hmm.. I don't quite get the topic (maybe because I don't know which anime this is from, or such), but assuming from Hasuke's post, a servant has to be a Human Being. Hmmm...

Odysseus, perhaps. The person who devised the fall of Troy by means of the Trojan Horse. He's skilled with a bow, as the last chapters of Odyssey will attest to, but his main asset is his cleverness.

p.s. Fate/Stay Night was it..

I want a big Dragon ^_^
like slaiver from yugioh

I'd want Genghis Khan. Maybe as a rider or a berserker.
