Generally, males are thought to be the stronger sex. However civilisation has became advanced so certain countries may beg to differ. For example the country I am in, Singapore. This is just a personal OPINION, and I am no sexist.

Guys in Singapore must go through national service of 2 years, so males earn 2 years less income than females. Law in S'pore is that if a male happen to touch any part of a female she can sue him for sexual harassment. Besides, I've heard much more cases(from both male and female friends) of teen girls ditching their boyfriends rather than teen boys ditching their girlfriends. The attitude is also a big problem, when a batch of Japanese students came to my school for a high school exchange some time ago, I found that their girls much more polite and humble towards strangers and friends alike.

I've heard from some friends in Taiwan that they also feel that females are the stronger sex in their country. How about you? Is this the case in your country? If it is, in what ways?

Hate to break this too ya but in general females are the more powerful and dangerous sex in almost any species. This does not mean they are physically stronger just that they can exert more "power" over us hapless males. Think about how many cultures and religions elevate females onto "pedestals" to be respected and protected (not to say that this is always how it ends up). Of course it would really help us guys out if we could understand females but the last guy who figured that out probably got himself defenestrated (thrown from a high window) to protect their secret.

Although men typically have more upper-body strength, women tend to have better endurance, stamina and flexibility. Also, women have a higher probability of ending up with someone, whearas men have a much higher probability of dying alone. On the plus side though, men often don't live as long as women so they don't have to wait too long to die. In other words, women were made for the long haul, men were made for being quick of the gate while fading in the stretch.

Men tend to have more physical strength while women are more excelling at everything else. Probably from the kids stuff. Stronger in our country? In canada, many people tend to think that the males are better but the females can do quite as much damage but not on the physical basis.

Yeah I hate to admit it but girls rule over here. They call shots for dating(like where to eat and what movie to see) and almost always have the upper hand in an arguement(they can call guys anything and get away must times). And truth be told I'd rather make a dude pissed off at than a girl any day.

Oh please, everyone knows that women are the biologically, menatally, emotionally (and virtually any other adjective you can think of) superior gender. You should see the fights that went back and forth betweens the boys andd the girls in my Biology classes lol. Of course I'll just point out that all the guys had as an argument was that men are generally stronger whereas I could give you an endless list of *scientific* reasons why women are clearly superior =D. And in fact I intend to. I just need to compile it (and I'll send it to a couple of guys from that Bio class too, lol . I really miss those (one-sided) debates).

So in short, women have always been superior, they're only just starting to exert and assert their rightful position.

Women are stronger than men in the enterprise world too. Women are more sensitive and precise than men. And women have more problem solving and multitasking abilities than men. It's in women's nature and evolution. The only way a woman can lose to a man in the business world is when she incorporates the male behavior.
I love being, living and working with women. They're outstanding beings.
To girls: please keep all things that makes you a woman. You're a natural born winner.
To us guys: we must learn with women. Quick. We must take a second look and see the girls around the way they really are -- as teachers. You'll never see your girlfriend the same way...

yep..sadly..instead of equals women hold the stronger hand of the 2..they know hoe we tick..and they know how to play there cards to get what they want..im surprised e dont have a women president..but if we did we would be better off i think..at least once congress 's lazy asses are gone

Hmm, hopefully I know which one here is female or male. However please do not say that females have better physical stats than men as this is the real world, not a game. Men have a higher muscle mass/total body mass ratio so they are definitely stronger, and more agile of course. I can't deny that females are more flexible, but dear girls if you are talking about fighting I don't think any woman can move faster and hit harder than the legendary Bruce Lee(if you are anti chinese of haven't heard of him you better watch his videos). Men are more likely to be fat as women nowadays are very wary of their figure and eat lesser(women are more likely to be obese before the 20th century). Meaning a man is most likely to be more fit that a woman of the same weight. But it's still undeniable that females recieves more success these days. But all these have a cause. Most men have always regarded women as the weaker sex so they give them advntages. Men in the government make female protection laws and males bosses are more likely to favour female subordinates. Since many females think they are the inferior sex they are very hardworking and tries to be better than the males.

Intellectually, females tend to understand emotions better, which is why they are better at handling human relations(in this sense qarrelling with guys and winning). Anyway females start puberty earlier so they should be more mature. However if you ask a female and a male to learn a practical skill(muscial instruments for example) the male is more likely to learn faster and better.

It's definitely beneficial to the society if females are more efficient, but a very big problem in developed countries is that females of the younger generation are unwilling to give birth, leading to aging population.

While women are now gaining status in many powerful positions in society today, they are nowhere near as powerful as men are. Please do not get this wrong; I do not mean that women are inferior in any way. It is just that presently, at least where I live, U.S., most powerful political or economival positions are held by men. For example, most CEOs of businesses with great influence in economy are men. Most of the congress, cabinet, and such are men. All presidents so far have been men. Further, we see such power difference all the time. A man is expected to pay for a woman's dinner and buy her diamonds; the reverse is not true. This implies that men are the more powerful gender as perceived by society and therefore has the means to provide for the women. Similarly, going back to the law with sexual harrassment. Society perceives women as the weaker gender, and thus there are much stricter rules concerning their protection. These are all observations that I see. Hopefully, society's perception of women will change, but as of right now, men hold the power.

women are fragile...emotionally and physically so most countries Laws and relirions had sought to protect that fragility and source of ...kindness, sympathy...compassion and a smaller ego which would not stand in the way of better jusdgement...

without men...i am sure it is hard for women to have to defend a country...most are not fit for the position...
men are less emotional...more of the type that is merciless and done what must be done without regrets...
but they say behind every successful man is a woman...
you could say that since my father comes to me many times for consulting on many matters...in the end it is not that guys are less superior...it's just they get jealous faster, and they have egos the size of the US and they want everything to be theirs and theirs alone...whereas most women are willing to compromise...making more friends than enemies...

Personally I think what's happening today is society is trying to make up for 7000 years of female oppression. Until now males were the dominant sex, they ran civilization while the women had to stay at home and take care of the children.

Think about this: Slavery were completely abolished in the UK in 1834 (to a lesser extent already in 1807). UK Women had the right to vote since 1832 (only since 1928 could all single citizens older than 21 vote - previously only married women over 30 or something). For almost 7000 years civilization were built upon the foundation of women = slave (of course to a lesser and larger extent).

So basically now its payback time.

Here in South Africa where I live we have it comming and going: due to the apartheid years after our unification, black people now have more rights than any other ethnic group. At the top of the governmental prescribed spectrum is black females, then black males, then coloured females, coloured males, white females, and at the bottom white males. So if you want to hire people for your company then you have to work down this list and hire accordingly. In other words, you have to hire according to colour and gender and not merit. Whopee.

You know, women can be fragile and so on..but when it comes to numbers...for instance, in our University there are about 30 men from all 5 courses and 300-400 women))) that's the point)

I like how some of the girls in this thread proclaim themselves superior SOLELY based on their gender. One should always keep in mind that being female doesn't necessarily mean you're immune to stupid or sexist acts of behavior.

But what do I know? Only half my brain is working anyway.

While some people argue that women in the U.S. (my home country) are becoming dominant in the area of business and such, I still think that our country is predominantly presided over by males. That's not to say that a female can't have a fighting chance in business, but seeing one in the top job is just rarer. Physically, we still have a lot of old-fashioned ideas about males and females, but I honestly don't mind very much. I really think guys and girls have equal oppurtunity here in the U.S., and there isn't a clearly defined stronger sex.

In my country, male is the dominant sex. Since it belongs to asia so it follows confucius philosophy, that means wife needs to be submissive to their husband and so on. There are a lot of beatings on females. Husbands and fathers get drunk and beat up their wives and daughters. Females' opinions weren't consider as strong as males' opinions. But I think it's because of the women's faults, it's because they give in too easy and all they do is blaming, why don't they make their lives more strong by themselves.
