Ok first of all,here in MT art is they take the picture of the original artist
,and they put a very nice backround and full of cheerful colours!wow thats so
artistic!Whydont they draw the pictures themselves?why they have to import in
photoshop and make a few confections to the art?And they change the hue ,they
put mor light ,flowers ,or snow
or lettrs,thats art?Wasnt art something made by ur heart?¨ur feelings

Ok I know that in here u can scan ,thats ok Poular scans.But popular art...I
have seen here in MT many original handmade arts ,and I havent seen none of

Have you taken a look at the highlighted art recently? 4 out of 6 are done from
scratch by the artists.
As for popular art... well, I've seen doujinshi reach the popular art section
quite a few times.
I don't think you're being fair when you say "many of ur pictures tht are
original this MT would not care nothing of ur art ,only a few!." That's not
true.
If you had read the description of "the face of the woman in pink with the
buildings" you would know that Candy-chan re-colored/painted her, which
many people cannot do. The mods give a reason why the item was highlighted. If
you disagree, you post a comment on the wall. That's what that function's there
for (though don't use it to bash the wall and artist )
Yes, people will always do "easy" wallpapers but what about those who
don't? What about those who spend 6-7 hour vectoring or re-painting an image and
background for a wallpaper? We can't go through and comment on every single
piece of work that goes through MT, you know.
Also, I think you're getting confused at why scans are being highlighted. Scans that are highlighted don't get
a spot on the front page. They're highlighted so people who want good quality scans can find them easily (at
least, I think that's why they're highlighted). You'll notice under the headings
for, say, the female scans section, "Highlighted Female Scans" it will
say Quality Submissions.
Obviously, these weren't made by our members, but those of us who enjoy making
wallpapers need scans. Not all of us can draw
While I agree with Chloe-chan that making wallpapers do take time and effort,
and there are quite a bit of good-quality walls here, I sort of agree with your
frustration metalhead, in that original doujinshi actually drawn from scratch by
the artist aren't getting the attention they deserve here. If you look through
the gallery, those pieces with a lot of faves are usually wallpapers with shiny
backgrounds using brushes (which they downloaded from somewhere else, usually
deviantART), stock photos, and photoshop effects, whereas there are lots of good
doujin out there with less than 20 faves (like this one: First Date by Yina )... I
guess people are just more attracted to shiny things... And I kinda agree that
while extraction and vectoring takes time and effort, it doesn't take too much
creativity... but creating a good wallpaper (ie adding background) I suppose
takes at least some thinking (esp if you create it from scratch)
Also, you have to remember, that MT is primarily a walling community (and
focusing on anime), that most (well, a lot anyway) people come here to find
wallpapers (esp that with an anime character) rather than pretty pictures. Same
with scans (and vectors I guess), people look at those (and download them) as
resources for their wallpapers/vectors, or just to build up their image archive
deviantART on the other hand, is focused on art in general, with a
whole variety of mediums and subjects.
There's another thing I find, is that fanart generally "sells" better
than original art. If your art/wallpaper features a popular character, generally
more people are going to look at it, because they know who the character
is.
Anyway, I'm not saying that all wallpapers here are filtered and just
scan+background. There are good walls made from scratch as well (like , she usually makes them from scratch by vectoring, without any scans),
browse through the "general wallpaper" rather than anime wallpaper, or
the "original" category and you can find lots, and there are good ones
made from scans.
I just hope that doujinshi gets more support. And if you see a good doujin or
something, you can always PM the mod of the category and propose a highlight.
So I guess it depends on what you're looking for, both art communities offer
focus on different mediums and subjects. I come here because I want to create
walls and vectors, but I go to deviantART for my photography, traditional art,
and doujins. So anyway, don't let it upset you too much, it's just that MT focus
more on wallpapers than doujin...

character. There are many, oh so very many talented ppl here AND u know what?

just doing the wall..most of you! Even if its hard...and besides, using someone
elses works, is plagiarism. and many wouldnt like it if they knew ppl are using
their works. I do have a wall, with this girl. Long time ago done. And, I dont

Art is in the eye of the beholder. While art may have started out as things
drawn by hand, it has evolved along with the increasing advances in technology.
What hasn't changed with the addition of technology? People used to write
letters by hand, but now most people send emails. But I digress... Walling is an
art in it's own right because it does take some artistic talent to be able to
pick a scan/vector and compose an appealing image. I don't wall because I am
Photoshop challenged, but I can appreciate a good wall. MT is an anime art community, but the primary
focus is on wallpapers. Why are they so popular? I like them because I can use
them on my computer desktop... there aren't many doujinshi that I can use on my
desktop though...
I spend most of my time in the doujinshi section because that is the kind of
work that I do. I don't think that art should be about what is highlighted or
popular... who cares about the number of favs? What I value more are the
comments that people give me because they tell me what I did good, but more
importantly what I can improve on. One of the things that I like to look for
when I'm viewing new submissions is a good description that tells me what the
artist did in order to get to the final product.
As for people who "can't" draw (I put it in quotes because I believe
that with practice anything is possible)... we at the Doujinshi Support Club are
currently working on a resource that will hopefully help those people out. Since
both of you seem to be very big supporters of original art, we would love to
have your input! Here's the thread.

recoloured, and happen to be mad ... There is a report option. They can always
come by and leave a note to the mods that they do not want their art being used.
Not everyone here does that, I think I only saw it twice ...

Not everyone knows that the image they took is actually from someone else
doujin...
Unless you stick your name on somewhere there....
And yes.... theres the damn report button if someone decide to take your doujin
and start re-colouring or whatever...
No one or Hardware can stop people from stealing people doujins...
Whether it is Minitokyo or other page...
That is the risk artists face for putting their art out to the public in the
net
So if you feel like your art is being misuse...
Then by all means.... dont post them on the net...

afraid of commenting it like you did cause I thought I would be banned ^^U
hahahahaha...
well a time ago, I thought that moderators were made favs and etc just because
they were moderators... cause, one of them made the same drawing as I, and it
wasn't good, the proporitions were all messed up and sort of things like that...
if you want check my dawings out.... and I got shocked because that drawing got
like 1000000000 favs and
mine only 5 ^^ and I went like... WTF? but okay I let it pass.... but its really
irritating when you put all your effort in making smething good, with your OWN
hands, and not a program and downloaded things.... but well thats how society
is... you can't ask them to prefer a DRAWING than a wallpaper made with
photoshop ^^
