Ok, we got a decent turn out for SOTW 14 but we could always use some more! C'mon people get them sigs turned in!

Also before we start I would like to announce a new rule. S20 is based on the principle of helping others to improve on sig making. So, what will happen from now on is that you will tell the contestants what they could improve on their next sig. (this includes the contestant you voted for) Remember this is constructive criticism. ^_^

I voted for Lacus

Melymay: I think you could improve this sig quite a bit if you would use colors that are more relevent to the image. The colors just dont match. Also this is my personal opinion that the simpler the text the better. nowadays I almost always use just Arial, and Bankgothic fonts, at a low size.

Lacus: Your sig is impressive, however it lacks a focal point. When making a background try to think about a spot that stands out in a way that will grab peoples attention. (you do it on your walls all the time so I know you can do it! )

As for me I need to work on my lighting...its too dark without enough detail in the background. I have a focal point but it doesnt do me much good if there isnt any detail in the background.

Chopper Dave: Holay crack CD! That's an awsome siggy I have nothing to say that relates to improvement, great job!

PinkPrincessLacus: Lovely background. The images you used don't really fit together (no offense ^_^' ). The way you put the images in the sig made it feel/look as if the pic of kira and the pic of lacus (i think thats her name) are seperated when they really aren't. The text inbetween them also helped with the "sepearated" look. But that's just me ^^

I voted for Lacus - nice sig and cute ^-^ But needs a little more concept

Melmay - I agree with chopperdave about how your bg colors dont match the chibi you used. Its cute and all, but the bg is rather bright and uses neon colors, while the chibi is more blue oriented. The arrows are cute, but they need to differ in width a bit more

chopperdave - sig looks great, but theres just way too many things in the wall. Or too much detail, I mean. Theres just alot going on in the sig.

the problem with this is that everyone makes for sigs that are superior in smudge and shine nowadays, so it is somewhat... cliche.
Nonetheless, Chopper has a good sig, but I feel that it is not yet quite the color yet, it needs more gold, currently it looks closer to yellow than gold, I think that makes the excellence in this sig.

Mellymay reminds me of the good old devildude sigs... lol brush spam.

Lacus... too busy, too much, keep it simple, in a small canvas, the best things are not effects, but what the render can do for you matters the most. Utilize that effect that you can do with the render itself. (which is why 3D renders are always superior)

So... lacus gets my vote. consider it a appreciation vote.

I voted for Mellymay b/c she made it unique and fun looking, and special and looked like she had fun making it, thanks for your activity!. I like it alot, its cute and different, Great Job Mellymay!

I know this is suppose to be for constructive criticism. But Im not giving any. I thought this was for fun, yes constructive criticism is helpful or whatever but everyone has their own style and personal preference and who is to say the other is always wrong or right.
