I recently found out through Wikipedia that Yoshitoshi Abe did artwork for an
old Japanese strat RPG called Wachen Roeder.
I got so excited after seeing some screenies online that I found the game on
eBay, and bought it .
I scanned the front cover and a couple pages inside the booklet and submitted
them to MT, because I thought that these were pretty rare Yoshitoshi Abe images
that people have probably not seen before.
Unfortunately they were promptly deleted by Botchii (but not before I scored a
fav on one of them! Ha ha, take that Botchii, you're too slow ). Ahem,
anyway, here they are. If you're as big a fan of this artist as I, and I know
you're out there, then you'll appreciate these images .

"Story" Section Scan:
Update: I found additional information
from this source, which shows that the
cover of Wachen Roeder was actually done by Range Murata. His Wikipedia article
also shows as Wachen Roeder under his credits. This means that though Range
Murata did the artwork on the cover as well as the character designs, Yoshitoshi
Abe created the character scenes which are depicted in the "Story
Section" image above.

Update: Here are additional images. These
are screenshots taken of the ingame graphics. Since original resolution of the
game is a bit low, the screenshots themselves are not of the highest quality.
Hope you like them .
What can I say my friend you are not the only one who is trying to submit a scan
and gets deleted, yeah curse botchii and I am annoyed that sometimes it deletes
even doujinshis,I hope that after I submit my new doujinshi it won't get
deleted!
Wonderful scans....the artists sounds familiar(Serial experimental Lain!?-I hope
I wrote the title well) and oho they are also at good resolution!
Thank you for posting, Odeena-chan! I'm glad you like them . I
will have to post the screenshots from the game in here too, which have more of
Abe's artwork .
I have some screenshots taken already, now I just need to upload them to my
imageshack account and link them in here. I'll try to get around to that in the
next few days hopefully.
Thank you, I think they are quite nice as well. They are very characteristic of
Abe's work, aren't they ?
Also reminiscent of his earlier work, such as lain ^_^.
Isn't botchii's message always the same? Just give you the list of what criteria
"could" be the reason for the deletion...
I know, but it's okay. Not that big of a deal. Besides, the latest images are
too low a quality, and they're not scans anyway. So this will have to do :P.

these are great thanks so much for sharing them
You're very welcome. I thought they were pretty good too
(unline Botchii - curse you!).

Yes indeed, Yoshitoshi Abe is the artist of Lain, Niea_7, Haibane Renmei, and Texhnolyze. I think that his works are of utmost quality
.
BotChii can be a major pain sometimes... especially when it deletes scans for no apparent reason. Happened to me couple times, too.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the scans. They're really pretty. And, sorry for not posting earlier. Life is a pain, again

Ah yes, Lain, that's why the style looks so familiar! I love his colouring style, the painted look with those grungy colours
Do you remember what the botchii message said? You know, you could always complain in the Deletion Complaints Forum

Very cool images ^^
Thank you very much
. I'm
afraid I don't have any others to add at this point, but there's probably more
in the game somewhere :P.
