Seriously, im so hyped up about this movie! I wonder why hardly anyone knows
about it. Oh well...their loss!
Its directed by Frank Miller the guy behind sin city, hes style was so unique
and refreshing.
Its based on his graphic novel which is based loosely on the Battle of
Thermopylae. When i read about the battle long time ago i thought wow, then
recently i heard:
1. a movie is going to be about it,
2. directed by Frank Miller,
3. awesome trailer...
3 checks im in!
of course i doubt its meant to be historically accurate...but its definitely a
visual feast of style and cinematography!
It seems artsy with like the faded colours, but all in all very unique.
Lot of action, good music, looks like it's going to be an epic movie

Get this...I was writing my thesis on Sparta and Athens...then I got my hands on
a digital version of the comic....then I got (a) trailer to the movie....then
some of my friends got me a bound volume of the comic for my birthday....yes I
can't waaaaaaaaait!
And no, its not loosely based on the battle of Thermopylae - I was quite
impressed how historically correct it was, given all the sensationalist effects
added.
Visually spectacular and very entertaining. Really a must-see. But aside from
the basic tactic of using Thermopylae as a choke-point, every other aspect of
the movie deviates extremely far from the historical facts. And the idiot who
directed it said that it was 90% historically accurate. For one, no Spartan
would bitch about liberty and freedom and the evils of slavery (Spartans kept a
slave race) like some spineless, inbred
US politician.
Well I can't say that it was accurate but I've checked them from many source n
the main line is still there and the movie doesn't deviates that much. The
history itself is still in many debate cuz Herodotus as the writer of the
history, was known for overexageratting many facts on his writings. For example,
Herodotus said that the Persian army was counted as millions, while many
historians believes that the Persians army wouldn't even reach a million.
I doubt many things such as a battle with no casualties on Spartan on the 1st
day, weird 'monster shape' living things used by persian, and many more, but the
film is really really worth to watch! A great movie bout the last standing
battle!
it gives a gd adrenaline rush! love tis loads. tis movie is notably very
artistic for a movie of its genre, certainly spectacular in its field.
frm wad i noe abt spartan history,at least the stuff abt growing up in sparta is
true, they do really make the spartan boys turn into men,like real fast. brutal.
A great piece of entertainment.
Also given what is know of historical Spartans I can say they were probably the
equivalent of the US Navy Seals or Swiss Guard as far as the period goes with no
other forces of the time even coming close to matching their ferocity in
combat.
Some of what is actually in the graphic novel and movie is actual historical
fact that has been expounded upon and exaggerated for entertainment purposes.
The fun part is finding out home much exaggeration there is and what the real
Spartans were like (in reality they were not a group you would want to go to war
with if you could help it)
I have only one regard: the blood has ruined this film. It looks like the blood
has been put there at the end of taking shots.
And it's not a slight problem to take lightly.
if u love epic movies like this, and u've seen gladiator, for me, i think
gladiator's storyline is much much better.. i drooled all the way coz of the hot
bods

Look at how the title, 300, drawn. It's like blood being splattered forming a
number of 300. See the splat of blood below the 300? It's not even necessary. I
think it's part of how they want to made the movie artistic.
For some people it would ruin their mood, while others may think it's artistic.
After me n my friends watch the movie, we were divided into 2 arguements block.
One that thinks the blood part is artistic, and the others think the other way
side.
Not just that, this movie contain so much messages about life. I haven't seen
such movies since Devil's Advocate (Keanu Reeves n Al Pacino), which makes me
give a real though about my life n work n family, until I watch this movie.
I just realize, that we are facing "Persian giant army" in many of our
life aspects. But, r we running, or we are facing it with a firm purpose, it's
our choice.
I saw this movie last week. I have to agree that it's an awesome movie. The
battle sceenes was just amazing. I was watching it with my breath hold. I wish
there were more movies like that.

I am going to go see that heard it was great from my friends i'll probably see it this weekend it's supose to have great action and a great stroy.
