Hi people!

All cool?

I want to buy a new Video Card. I guess some of you are planning to do the same.

I am thinking about XFX nVidia Geforce 7950 GX2 1GB Xtreme, it is o'cked to 540 MHz instead of the stock 500 MHz.

I am also thinking about buying the new technology XFX nVidia Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB XXX, it is also o'cked but to 550 MHz.

They both cost exactly the same. And they are both XFX.

I've been reading reviews, contests and benchmarks about them.

In low resolutions like 1024 X 768, the 8800 GTS is far much better. In middle resolutions like 1600 X 1200, the dual GPU VC 7950 GX2 rules this contest.

But in very high resolutions like 2560 X 2048, the GTS takes over again.

The dual GPU thingy is just so cool! That's why i feel attracted to that Video Card. And in some heavy tasks, it takes advantage to the one-GPU 8800 video card (because they are two lol).

So tell me, what do you think? Should I buy the 7950 or the 8800?

And my fellow, if you want to buy a VC as well, this is your thread!

XFX is a good quality card maker. I have their 7950 silent cooled version and would never want anything else, as I hate noise, and like its low power consumption for a high level card.

If you are planning to migrate to Vista one day, then go with the 8800gts.
As of now only the GeForce 8 series supports DirectX 10, all other
supports DirectX 9.

And yes in order to take advantage of a 8800gts you will need a high resolution monitor.
1024x768 is a waste to a 8800gts.

8800 with no doubt at all!

i finished buying the 8800 GTS, lol.

It's a cool videocard. Also i got the pre overclocked edition :D

thanks for everything.

8800gt is better, it's out right now

Please don't bump threads especially with facts that have already been given.
