Hold on or Let go

Why does holding on to the pain
Hurt so much more than letting go
In the end would you lose or gain?
And would the hurt you feel inside show?

You love them more than they'll ever know
You hold onto every memory of them
You try to hide your pain so it won't show
But it's causing lots of mayhem

You get high off their smell
You get lost in their eyes
You wonder if they can tell
Cause it really is no surprise

You die without their touch
You hunger for their voice
Without them life isn't much
You only want to rejoice

You wonder what had caused
The two of you to part
Is your love just paused
Or must you just restart?

But don't forget the ups and downs
The anger, pain and hurt
Remembers the smiles went to frowns
As you lay dying in the dirt

Is the temporary happiness and joy
Worth the suffering and pain?
What if you're left by your boy,
Do you want to go through that again?

So make up your mind
Before it is too late
But I think you will find
Yourself in the same state

So hide the pain
Or let it show
Lose or gain
Hold on or let go

I know exactly how that feels and letting go is chancing yourself but holding on to the pain until everything is good again is also chancing it cause who says your making to the end?
