My friend recommended BS Player, but I had a lot of problems with that...
Another friend recommended Zoom Player, but I've heard bad things about that...
I just want a player to watch all anime formats (.avi, .mkv, .ogm etc) with no trouble...
Any help is greatly appreciated!

try VLC...

I would recommend Media Player Classic. It comes with almost every codec pack and its quite functional. And what format is played, that depends on codec pack more than on player.

Gotta be Media Player Classing. simple and lightweight player that plays practically everything.

i usually use bsplayer .. if u have the right codecs it shoudn`t be a problem .. [when i say right codecs i mean k-lite .. it usually works for me] .. if bsplayer fails .. then yeah media player classic or vlc

Media Player Classic is good.

VLC sees almost every anime format..so try it

Media player classic and vlc. VLC is good since it comes with almost everything. All u need is juz the setup file. The only bad thing i find about it is that its rather ugly. Media classic is better since u can practically install any codecs for it. It looks better than vlc too. U can get VLC player at download.com and media player classic at http://www.free-codecs.com/ (for this site choose a codec pack, most of it use media player classic).

ive had no troubles with Zoom Player and its my main player

as for codecs get Combined COmmunity codec pack (CCCP) and to make sure get K-lite mega codec pack and after that you should be pretty sweet. Zoom player and MPC come with CCCP anyway and you get one or two players with K-lite too

Media Player Classic or dare I say it Windows Media Player both work perfectly when using CCCP for me. Apart from FLV they'll play any format I can think of, and you can install FLV support as well. Also you might want to get the Ogg/FLAC audio codecs just to ensure that you can play everything.

While VLC claims to be able to play everything I have had problems with certain combinations of container formats and codecs.

As for me personally, I use CCCP and use media player classic (mpc) as my main player and i haven't had any problems with it. I have used klite mega codec pack in the past and never had problems also but i wanted to try something different so i switched to CCCP and i like it though it didn't have the tools which is included in klite also real alternative and quicktime alternative but other than that you're good. VLC's okay but it doesn't display subtitles correctly on some container formats.

VLC has to be my favorite. I've gotten it to play pretty much everything.

VLC does everything, except RealMedia (which I try to avoid) and it has trouble with .mkv files sometimes ... so I keep Media Player Classic in reserve for those

i watch it on winamp
i used to have BS but it went crazy and stopped working

I recommend VLC.Player. This player reads everything from Div-X to MKV. It uses it's own codec library and it uses a minimum of CPU power. Just try it and you will see that it is one of the best players you have ever seen.

c ya

If your computer has it I HIGHLY suggest windows media center. It's great!

I use Media Player Classic

Windows Media Player (with codecs on)

Zoom Player Pro or if you don't want to buy it the free one that comes with CCCP :)

my windows media player seems to play most animes, but if it doesn't, I go straight to VLC. VLC is really reliable and plays pretty much anything apart from RealMedia. But then again, for RealMedia, I use Realplayer. But yeah, VLC is really good. if you haven't already, you should try it! ^_^

VLC if you don't like messing with the codecs. I use BSplayer, an older ver. which doesn't have adware.

Really I don't see the problem with 'messing with the codecs'. Its not that big a deal, you install a codec pack and if needed then QT and RM alternative, then you never ever touch it again, I don't see whats so difficult about that. Sure you might need to update your codec pack from time to time, but its the same for VLC, that get updated too.

I just use Media Player Classic for everything, but if that for some reason fails, i still got BS player and Windows Media Player as backup. But the one player i HATE THE MOST has to be real media player, and second to that, quicktime player

If you want a player that you can just download, install, and play whatever (within reason) you want.
get VLC
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

It can play ANYTHING (within reason)

I personally use The Core Media Player though, just because. =/
