Something just pop up in my mind.
I have this problem.
Which is whether you prefer watch your anime on DVD, catch it daily on TV or
read the manga.
For me:
I prefer to watch it on DVD because I won't miss even 1 episode. Plus manga is
way too expensive although I enjoy reading it.
So how about you?

I'm a DVD person myself as I like to have full control over what I'm watching IE
language selection, no commercials and the ability to pause or skip things like
opening and closings. I don't think I've watched an anime on TV in years and I'm
not much of a manga reader.

Same with me plus I can wrap up and end a serie in less time than tv, the
longest would be a week.
Same as above...on every score. DVD, full control, no ads, print screens. These
dats its almost uncomfortable to watch TV - I miss the control and then the
pause doesn't work so well.
well it kinda depends on what you're looking for..
Personally I am a huge manga fan, mainly b/c the quality is just that much
greater than when the show is animated(90% of the time).. also once you've read
it(as you would after you've read a book) you've got a set of characters and
voices down.. which you don't need a animated series to mess that up for
you.
I'd like to add that if you try at all all you can just download scanlations on
the internet.... for just about every popular manga out there... you don't have
to buy it as it comes out... although i do if i enjoy the series enough (3x3
eyes, ah my goddess, chobits, death note, akira, love hina, gto, sgt frog, xxx
holic, and so on)

here to be dubbed becomes atrocious and not even worth watching, which looses a
lot of fan base..ex: one piece, bleach, naruto) all start as incredible series..
but more and more ppl hate them b/c of the lame job of dubbing did to the series
(but naruto mainly b/c of fillers lol)
soooooo overall i'm a pirate of the internet... sailing the WWW on me DSL...
I suggest downloading EVERYTHING b4 even considering to buy... and then if
you're a fan go pick it up! ;p

I read manga as I get it....which isn't often.
ditto to every word...but I watch it on tv more often than I watch DVDs cause my
DVD player is a bit wacked...

Simple as marked above, it's easier and you can control it.
I read the manga only if it's different of it is a very good serie.
