this is probably a stupid question but here goes. for the past couple months i
have had these strong feeling of affection towards someone at my school and it
has come to the point where i can't stop thinking about them. now my question
is:
how do you personally tell the difference from a simple crush and really being
in love?
since i would like to know so i personally could somehow define what i am
feeling right now. thx
This isn't a stupid question, it is probably too much to really be on these
forums, you need to make up your own mind on this because there are too many
definitions. Sadly, I have met people who don't believe in love, who think it is
lust, and that, in my opinion, is not the right idea. Love is when you would do
anything for a person who is in the category of "loved." Love is a
complicated subject, always has been and always will be, partially due to the
inability of people to actually describe what it is for themselves and also
because people are seemingly unable to have the same definition for the word. It
has the ability to make the richest man in the world (hypothetically, not in
reality because I don't know who it is or his situation) jealous of some bum on
the street living in a cardboard box. Love is a wonderous thing, when your in
love you fill alive to its fullest, and love is not always women/men. Some
people love work, alcohol, drugs, etc. But true love is love between people, and
it can make things worth whatever its price is. Also, true love is recipricated,
meaning the other person loves you back. I might think of things later, but I'll
leave that up to others.
I'm going to probably get blasted for this but if you think about it, it's
simple.
If you're really in love, you don't have to wonder about it and you don't have
to ask others for their opinion on the matter. It's something you just know,
with no doubts in your mind. Love isn't a "maybe I am," "maybe
I'm not" matter. Either it IS or it ISN'T. It's definite.
As for how you define "being love," that has soo many different
definitions and ways of expressing it. There are two people on this planet, thus
far, that I would give my life for without hesitation: one is my younger
brother, whom I helped our mother raise, and the other is my husband, my best
friend who I've gone through Hell for...That's how I show my love for my brother
and "being in love" with my husband. The only one that can really tell
you what "being in love" means is yourself.
um, love is felt after infatuation,
infatuation is defined as a strong feeling but after sometime, it would then
subside...
for some instance, i had felt that way before, couldn't stop thinking about
someone, but then again after a few days, or weeks or months perhaps, i finally
forgot about that person,(infatuation)
and i also had experience the other way around, it's been 2 years now, (or
probably 3 or 4 yrs )still, my feelings for this certain person is haunting me,
and i must admit now, that i love him
yet, im open for relation (love)
Yare yare. Had a day long discussion with a friend about this a while ago. We
came to 4 conclusions about the different types love.
1. Admiration/Affection
2. 'Like'
3. Love with the intent to sin
4. True love
There is also that family love. You know the one you have towards you parents,
siblings, cousins etc.? But that's kind of irrelevant to what we're discussing
here, so we'll leave it out.
1. Admiration/Affection
To like someone's attributes... be it personality, looks, interests etc. ... you
essentially admire them. Over time this admiration turns into the affection
towards them. Why? You grow to like them more and more for what they are/have.
More often than not a trickle of your true personality, thoughts, or intimate
attributes are shown towards that particular person in hope that they'll return
the favour. This affection is often referred to as a 'crush'. The reason why
crushes hurt the most is 'coz you've opened up to them and they don't have the
affection towards the core of you.
2. 'Like'
To like someone is not to love them. This is the perfect example of the 'love'
that is present in the younger teenagers. They like each other a lot but are
just acting on an impulse. These relationships are usually fairly open
ended.
3. Love with the intent to sin
This isn't even love itself. It's just a way of getting what he/she wants. Be it
sex, money, a lifestyle etc. it doesn't matter. It's where one person thinks
their partner loves them a lot and thus shares their most intimate
feelings/thoughts with them. However, their partner in reality is displaying a
faux layer of love. When their partner gets what they want they'll immediately
severe the relationship and thus hurting the victim ie. the person who was
displaying the true love.
4. True love
This is the most purest form of all love. It happens when both people in the
relationship share their inner most feelings and thoughts. Essentially they move
as one.
Or alternatively 'Love is that warm fuzzy feeling when you get when he/she tells
you that they like you' which was said to me when I finished rambling on about
love to a friend.
Love is an emotion. It's supposed to be a good thing but can hurt you. Love is
for two people who trust each other with their own lives. Love is the only thing
you can't control otherwise it's not love. Love is in many different forms and
is different for everyone. But for all I care love is specail and isn't
something you can get whenever you want. It isn't a joke and is really precious,
it can disappear if you're not careful. Anyway it's different for everyone, this
is my idea of love. But all love is specail.

hhhmm.... pretty long posts.
Love, is wanting to be with that special person for no apparent reason. Just cause you`d like to be in there presence.
That is what love feels like to me.

good day
If you are in love then it is indeed a stupid question, if not then it isn't.
However, do not mistaken the phrases " I love someone" with "I 'm in love with someone". Just that.
Love is full of funness, crushes are mean and hurt you

I hope that has answered your question.
